This is why I save myself the stress of Candy Crush and instead shoot at teenagers while they say horrible things about my mother in Call of Duty.
I play Madden. Actually, I made it to the Super Bowl last season with the Buccaneers (14-2 record, in case you were wondering). We were playing the Ravens, and it was a close game throughout, and I was trailing by 4 with like :40 left in the game. After (somewhat) struggling on offense all day, I had momentum going. When I got to around the Ravens' 15 yard line, I threw the ball to Doug Martin on a route in the middle of the field. He caught the ball, running, breaking tackle, running, 5 yard line, 3 yard line! 1 yard line!!!!!!!!

Fumble.

I lost the Super Bowl, at the 1 yard line because Martin fumbled the football. Way to go Doug. (not you, unkadug)

The first time I attempted to play Madden around when the 360 was new console, I lost to the Browns. It took me a very long time to get over that and try to play again.

Buenos noches!

And that is the extent of what I remember from Spanish. Hey - after around 25 years I'm pretty proud of myself!!
In the 4-yo class I observed today, there were two Spanish speaking students who had no English knowledge before this school year. The teacher doesn't speak Spanish. I took a year of Spanish in middle school, but I don't remember much - I do remember how to say "pay at the cash register" though. Paga en la caja.

I took 6 years of Latin and 3 of Spanish. If I am reading Spanish I can generally figure it out since the root of the words is so similar. But if I am listening to it being spoken I am at a total loss - it's just too fast for me.

Hey - don't sell yourself short - I'm sure you could have told the tot to please stand clear of the doors...

I should have told the teacher I knew Spanish, and then pretend like I'm saying something important to the student, when I'm really saying that. And then the student is confused, but the teacher still thinks I'm helping. It's a master plan. You know, if I ever had a situation that would call for that.
