No landline here, just cell phones. We have an "emergency" landline, though, that is required (but I think it comes with our internet). We used to get calls on that for some old repair shop business, whose owner has passed away.

So I took a sick day today. The time I've been home today I have heard my landline ring more times than I have all summer. I guess telemarketers don't care about the Do Not Call List between 9 and 5. Also checked the voice mail for it too for the 1st time this month (I give no one my landline #. I only have it because it was part of the special deal for my cable/Internet package). It was like 80 robocalls. One was the same message from a Tea Party group 8 times in a row all from the same day. Really...

I was expecting a call last week - and I had given them my home phone. So I set it so my cell phone rings when my home phone does. I didn't realize how many times we get solicitors suring the day that just hang up! My phone rang ALL DAY.

Sick day or hooky day? If it's the former - feel better. If it's the latter - have fun!

Somehow I starting having asthma last night for the 1st time since I was 4. So I took the day to see a doctor and get a prescription.

Wow, good call on the sick day then. :\ Hope its nothing major.

I got rid of my landline when it got to the point that I had a cell phone... my landline would ring and I would just stare blankly at it, because no one would ever call me on that dinosaur.

I dumped it (and cable!) the next day.

My former landline was for a major florist in our town that closed about ten years ago. We kept getting calls for arrangements and planters to be sent to funeral homes.o_O

My daughter decided she wanted to be the fighter pilot complete with the X-Wing. "Yeeeeaaaah, mommy would love that buuuuut I see you taking it off halfway through T&T and mommy has to carry it." Did that sound convincing? Our T&T is Saturday and she decided to be "The Disney Kid" and wear all her souvenirs.

I can't bring myself to dump my cable. Every chord cutter keeps saying how nuts it is that I pay for HD, DVR, and HBO. But I like being able to see Joffrey get slapped in the best definition possible. Plus if I'm caught up with a show and it's on, I want to watch it ASAP, not wait.

Plus I'm even considering making my cable even more expensive with my college's football team moving their games to the Big 10 Network and NFL Redzone being in the same package.

I have cable AND DirecTv. Just internet and phone (I can't ditch the land line) is the same price as throwing in the TV. We have had DirecTv for years. It's actually more economical in my area to do it that way.

Hope your asthma is better!

I have net flix through the Xbox and roomies mom gave us access to her hbo go. So I can watch anything that's on hbo go anytime....aaaand game of thrones gets put on there an hour after its first shown. Or, I can watch it the next day. :)

It's kinda funny to heat people talk about tv shows I never heard of. The crocodile show and the redneck guys...selling what? Fish bait or something? And I had to google what a honey boo boo was.

Wish I never did that.

Also, there's also means of watching shows. Depends on how legit you wanna be. Ditto football.

The only reality shows I watch is Top Gear, those ghost hunter ones, and Anthony Bourdain. I have no idea what the rednecks sell.

I honestly don't like the quality of those other means of watching sports without cable and HBO Go just gets terrible picture quality for no reason for really long periods of time. Plus I watch pretty much every HBO series, except for one *cough*girls*cough* So I figure they at least deserve the money. Showtime on the other hand... Homeland isn't enough for me to justify paying for that.
