It's too hard to market stuff around Thanksgiving. So they are doing the logical thing and burning that holiday down until people finally start referring to it as Christmas 1.
I think he is referring to Black Friday Eve.

Our local grocery stores are decorated for Thanksgiving. They started the big "buy your turkey early" sale this week. My daughter talked me into buying some scented pinecones already. I put two in the kitchen and the rest go in a big ziplock so I can spread out through Christmas.
