One Little Spark...
@StarWarsGirl95 Only you will know what's best for you and it sounds like you do. I mean Jesus Pete. You're only 18. You've got your whole life ahead of you. I started working when I was 15. Did I want to? No but times were rough. Did I wish I was working (which was full time) when I was a college freshman? Big h*ll no. Especially being two months out of high school it was a rough adjustment at first and maybe I would paid better attention. I know you'll do just fine because you have a game plan in place and sounds like you are determined to stick to it. Many freshman have no clue. ("The Force is strong in this one.")
I wasn't trying to come down hard on our favorite cat lady! <grin>

I was just sharing...I've been there, done that...

Have class at 12:30 central today, so I feel like I'm just wasting half a day until I have to go to class. Every other weekday I have class at 8:00.

That's me! :D

But it's not like I really have time to do anything substantial. Have a couple things I have to do, but other than that I'm just killing time. I hate that feeling.

I taught college for 3 years, and my grandfather has for going on 40 years...

You can't trust those placement numbers.

If you are on scholarship, fantastic. Just, do me a favor...don't rack up student loan debt. It eases your way through college, but will kill you financially when you graduate and are trying to make a name for yourself.

Just some more (unasked for) advice.

I have to disagree about student loans. Both my kids were fortunate enough to get some decent scholarships through college, and we helped them as well, but we insisted on them each having student loans too. We felt it would make them value their education more and be less apt to drift aimlessly through those 4 years. They both worked whatever grunt jobs they could throughout high school and college also, and it gave them great perspective and respect. What can I say, I'm Mean Old Mom.

I only have one 8 am class. But I also have a 30 minutes commute and naturally stay up late and sleep late. My first class is, well, now. Back soon

My school (business) didn't have class on Fridays...so I loaded up my schedule with 3 Tuesday/Thursday classes (starting NO EARLIER than 11) and a Wednesday night class (whatever liberal arts class fit in my schedule). It was fantastic. Didn't much prepare me for when I graduated and got a real job...but I didn't care...I was sleeping in :D!!

8am classes were for freshman and desperate to graduate with enough credit seniors.

The campus was dead until 10ish when it was a healthy amount of people around going about their day. Then at 1pm it turned into a mob of people all trying to shove themselves into a bus to get to class on time. And I transferred from a small little school after my freshman year to take part in this madness.

I've got two classes today, one at 10:50 and one at 1:40, then two tomorrow plus the 8 am seminar. The thing is the seminar end at 8:50 and my next class is not until noon. Oh well. It was one of those "The class only occurs at this time" things. That, and my school is divided between two campuses, so I scheduled so I was on one campus Mondays and Wednesdays and the other Tuesdays and Thursdays. Friday is my day off:D. I got up every day by at least 6:30 for 7 years. Taking a break:p.

And when I was rushing around this morning, I almost threw on my Aulani t-shirt, but I threw on my Disneyland one with the giant Mickey.

Next week when I come sit in this library I'm wearing the Aulani one

When I signed up for classes I figured after needing to be at school before 7:30, an 8am class 5 minutes from my dorm would be a breeze. About a month in I was on college time and realized I was brain dead before 9:30. Never took an 8am again until senior year when it was the only time offered.

Does the school have you take buses between the campuses like mine did or is it walkable?
