wish we still had one around here the closest one is over 50 miles away

you can look for a local one here http://www.drive-ins.com/
I drove over an hour to one in South Jersey last year and saw Prometheus. It was a a really cool experience and totally made up for how stupid Prometheus was. Even in a car you could hear people yelling, "Just run sideways!" at the end.

Our drive-in is just over a 10 minute drive from my house. It's $18 for as many people you can legally fit in a vehicle. We tend to take my sister's passenger van that fits 12 (3 families), park in the back row and take blankets to sit in the picnic section in front of the screens. The only bad part is the sound is run on FM radio so we have to make sure we have extra batteries just in case. :)

One Little Spark...
Drive-ins are awesome.

There's one still open here in ATL that I know of off Moreland Ave.

I always thought they sortof missed a great idea by tying it in with 50s food (yep, like Sci Fi)...heck, even if they just put a Sonic on property and delivered to your cars!

Well all your bad weather just reached me. Good thing the boat trip I was on ended when it did cause the thunder is coming and the wind is picking up.

The one I went to had a dinner menu that was pretty similar to Sci-Fi at DHS. Unfortunately the food was the same quality as Sci-Fi.

It's gotten sunnier here! Gotten a bit warmer at 82 degrees, also.

PS- One week from right now I'll be watching the Packers vs 49ers in the season opener! Woo!

Our 70s cartoon theme is coming to a close, and we didn't crack the case. I'll just be over here BMing.

Technically Monday isn't the weekend. A weekend include the days at the end of the week. At least that's what I've always assumed.

Ours is about 20-25 minutes away and they charge $25 a carload. It's still the most economical way to see first-run movies, and you see 2 per night (your choice from 6). I remember when it was $5 a carload, and cars held a lot more people!

Ours is playing six a night, three per side but there's nothing blocking either screen so the kids will turn around sometimes to see what's happening on the other side. Of course it rained like hell for the first movie, the new Percy Jackson. We'll see Planes and Despicable Me 2 after that.

I don't think there are any drive-ins around here. There's one in Iowa a couple hours from here, we pass it on the way to Florida.
