Thanks a lot. Now I'll be up all night pondering this.

It's akin to - why to we drive on a parkway, but park on a driveway?

I'll bet you didn't know I could be that deep.

Here, if I drove on a parkway I'd get a fine and a ticket for destroying public property. Our Parkways are a grass buffer area between a street and a pedestrian sidewalk.

I bake cookies in an oven and fry bacon on the range.

Then I will rephrase:

Technically, the only way to PROPERLY make bacon is to fry it.

Because somehow microwaving it or putting it in the oven is just wrong. And a waste of bacon

And many restaurants throw bacon in a big baking pan and bake the bacon until it doesn't even resemble the taste of bacon. One of the many reasons I'm not a fan of buffets. I love maple link breakfast sausage too if fried but the gray stuff they serve baked in the oven is pretty disgusting.

My dad gets this bacon for my brother that you bake in the oven. I refuse. My mom makes bacon every weekend. I can wait.

I make bacon almost everyday, I make sandwiches for family for lunch and very few sandwiches are made without a few slices of bacon. I don't create simple sandwiches, they must look like they came from a deli and they must be tasty and pretty to look at. Then they get wrapped 3/4 with deli foil (so none of the good stuff is lost when picked up to eat) and then in wrap to keep it fresh. Amazingly my 5'4" daughter is still less than a 100#s

You think I can't say anything "deep", huh?

Or you George Foreman "grill" it.

I drive on a driveway. I drive up the driveway and then I park my car.

As for a parkway, maybe it's not where you park. Maybe it's the way to the park.

I think I solved the problem.

That, or I really need to go to bed.

Seriously, all the prayers, karma, pixie dust, luck, etc., the world can spare to you.
You do what you have to. Most here already know I worked retail for the first time in my life startin' at age 46 when I was laid off from my archi. job in Jan. of '09, 'til the firm hired me back 4+ years later. Whatever gets ya' through.

And, your crafts are just AWESOME!
I hope you find a job that you love/like, soon, and are eventually able to build a craft business on the side that blossoms into a full-blown business for you. It's obviously where your heart is, and you are so very talented.
Plus, and I don't mean this to sound condescending in the least, it's just a fact; you are still so young, yet.
Go for it! :)

@Soarin' Over Pgh , donaldtoo's comments were exactly what I was thinking, too. Since I couldn't have written this any better, I'm responding after his remarks, because I think they capture the essence of the big picture here.

We're all pulling for you. Fingers crossed that you'll have a successful interview and that you'll get hired soon.

@Cesar R M , I am really enjoying your Alaska cruise trip report, over in the Trip Reports thread.

I'm still having a lot of difficulty with memory (or whatever it is) and once again, my computer crashed when I was on page 3, about maybe 3/4ths of the way down the page. Because there were so many pictures in each post, they were slow loading to begin with; unfortunately, the page crashed out after the dog team pictures.

I was happy, at least, to see the dogs and the pups were so cute, too!! :) You know how much I love dogs, and I enjoyed all those pictures.

I just wish my computer didn't crash, because whatever commentary or other photos came after those pictures, I missed. :(

I used to make bacon every weekend and put cheese on everything. I never had an issue with my weight so I wasn't concerned. Then I had some bloodwork done and my cholesterol was around 400. It was quite upsetting to do, but I made some changes. It's unfortunate that some of the best tasting foods are the ones to be avoided. Although - I guess it makes them seem more "special" if eaten sparingly.

Thanks everyone for the warm wishes and positive vibes... I'll take every last bit I can get.

I'm nervous. Hopefully by the time I'm ready to leave (not till 12) I'll be ok. If not, I'm good friends with Xanax.

This is the worst.

In the meantime I'm Gina go shove my head into my current projects and try to relax.

Thanks again guys and gals...and Walt :)

I don't encourage substitutions but individual requests will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
I see him! Waltie's having a blast swimming the dog paddle! :hilarious: :joyfull:
You found Walter! He is working on perfecting his stroke! :p
