That one resort has more shops than Disney I think.

FYI: Aulani is still better.

So pretty. As much as I've seen and read about Aulani and boy is it pretty, I think I'd go for the Hilton. I like to be able to roam around and Aulani is just a bit too far out there for me. As I review the prices for everything my wallet would go Ouch!

Oh my, Gabe. AWESOME!!! If there's no BBQ and beer in heaven, I don't wanna' go...!!!!! :joyfull: ;) :)
Sad to tell you we will all be vegan in Heaven.

The lion will lay with the lamb, the wolf with the sheep.
There will be no death. No killing.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why I am eating all the pork, steak, bacon, lamb, veal, eggs, and cheese while I can. No sense living the vegan lifestyle before I have to.

The original Christmas Shop in Downtown Disney was very charming, much smaller but it was so nice.
I bought ornaments for my very first tree there, back in 1991.

They don't match the tree's current colour scheme, so I hang them deep within the branches, or at the back. But hang them I must, as they bring back so many memories.

The longer you post here the more you get to really know the people....
This weekend I came to find that @JenniferS posts most frequently when she is working, her DH is working sell'n those homes. Posts a bit less when she is not selling but DH is....posts the least when neither she or DH is a sell'n.

Go back to work! :D

The year my DD was born, the last of the spawn I bought us all real nice Christmas Stockings from that Original Christmas Shoppe. Since it was the end of January lots of stuff was on clearance. Had lots of fun spending in there.

I liked the seclusion of Aulani. I absolutely HATE staying in Honolulu. I guess that's also because I've grown up 30 minutes from Baltimore City, but I'm used to a rural-suburban area and having to drive at least 10 minutes to get anywhere. I'm really not a city girl. Plus the pools at Aulani trump any pool at WDW, let alone the pools at the Hilton.

Also had a really bad experience with the beds at the Hilton. At first, we were supposed to have a large room but got upgraded to a one-bedroom suite. My parents were in the master bedroom while my brother and I were in the living room. There was a roll-away and a sofa bed. I took the sofa bed the first night and my brother took the roll-away. Well, I'm normally fine at DVC resorts that have the newer sofa beds, but the Hilton still had the older sofa beds. One night on that and a terrible backache later and my brother and I switched beds. He was fine on the sofa bed. The roll-away was better, but not great. We switched to Aulani five days into the trip and had a two bedroom. Man was I happy to have a real bed.
but how much Aulani costs? I've seen the prices of 500+ per night in the cheapest.
My parents bought into Aulani when they could. We get a one or two bedroom and save money by eating a lot of meals in. I very much doubt that it's $500+ in points per night, but I don't know the specifics. For a standard room, it seems to run $400-$500 per night, but they do have special discounts just like WDW (stay 4 nights get the fifth free). Way more worth it to stay at Aulani for that price than Poly or GF at WDW. For us, staying at Aulani for the majority of the time makes more sense because 1.) my parents invested the money to own there, so we may as well use it and 2.) if we stay at a regular hotel room, there's an extra adult fee because I'm over 18. I can see why others would pause at staying there, though I would recommend staying there for three or four nights if you can and spend all your time at the resort enjoying the amenities, and then switch to someplace cheaper and do the sightseeing while at the cheaper resort.

Didn't post much last night as I had my feelings genuinely hurt, my spirit somewhat crushed, by the A-holes who should be worshipping me.
Didn't want to talk about it, as I know where you all stand; and you've all got to be weary of my stories.

Today I was busy with my SIL/BFF.
We went and looked at a few realtor open houses; went to the butcher's, the farmer's market, and the grocery store; prepped everything for a lovely BBQ dinner; finished the guest/spare room; and changed the colour of her MagicBand from pink to orange.

It was lovely spending time with someone who genuinely loves and appreciates me.
My dad was always my biggest fan (God I miss him), then Hubby, then my mom, then two of my three brothers, then SIL.

Notice the two names not on that list?

Sorry for your bad experience at the Hilton. Although not as good as a standard bed, I would always recommend a roll away over the old style sofa beds. Now, the new sofa beds they are putting in nowadays, much better!

I could stay a few nights at the end of a trip. The food alone would be over the top expensive for us. I thought Disney World was expensive. I have never found a sofa bed that I liked. They should never be called a bed. Those fold down chairs at Disney Value Suites, Dear Lord, those should not even be mentioned as a bed. I'd never sleep there, I'd stay off sight at the Hilton for less.

Oy, so how is that adoptive son of yours? ;)

Seriously though you can always vent here. We have empathy. Yes you are right, we've had enough of them treating you badly and want that part to end for you but we are always here for you. Glad you had some ME time with your SIL.

The ones that they put in the DVC units are extremely comfortable. Especially at BLT and the new ones at Hilton Head. They lack the bar down the middle that makes so many sofa beds uncomfortable. They probably put the cheaper ones in the value suites at WDW. My parents never liked staying off site at Disney, but now it makes zero sense, for us at least, to stay off site. Either we use our DVC points, or if we run out of points, we use an AP discount. For my January trip, the rate with the DVC discount at Pop was around $90 per night. Then we used an AP discount in June to stay at BWV. 37% off plus no extra adult fee for me.

I slept on a sofa bed for more than two years, in a particularly small apartment.
I fancied myself a modern day Mary Richards.
