The cat finally caught on that she's my muse and now she's mad at me.

My mom originally made and painted this ceramic, and it suffered a lot of damage from being stored outside, in a box, in a gross shed, for twenty plus years. I've been working on it for literally a year, repairing the ears, paw, tail, and pumpkin with sculpting clay and repainting it while leaving as much of the original paint job intact... The cat was black, but because of the repairs, it was easy to make her white and turn her into my cat. :)

This is still a work progress!
That is so cute! Your cat looks exactly like the Beanie Baby (named Boo) my daughter takes everywhere. (She's been to WDW six times. :) )

They mean well, of course. And, there are some kids who enjoy performing, and maybe a few adults might actually like listening to the after-dinner recitals. My issue was that I was a shy kid, and my mother knew that, but still insisted that I play the piano for company. I'll never know if she pushed this because she thought I was talented, or if she wanted me to gain some confidence in front of people. Regardless, It all backfired.

Your family is obviously very different than my DH's. My BIL didn't care if his kids didn't want this. He didn't care that my kids didn't want to listen to this or anyone else. He forced it down everyone's throats. As a board member we have to hit a good chunk of extras. I'll hit a few sport events, I listen to chorus, see a play, I drop band into other members laps that have kids in band. I can watch Ohio State march and play all day but I have no desire to listen to musical performances that are over the talent ability of these kids.

My thought was always what makes these parents tick.

I just watched the YouTube of Cris Carter discussing Adrian. Wow what a powerful speech. I'm so impressed, it was very moving. I had read much of it but it doesn't give justice to listening to his message through the power of his voice and emotion. Amazing.

Kudos.

46 days until Halloween. :)

To add to my lawn decorations and there are many, I just bought 2 skulls for my rock garden and a veil for my lamp post.

I still need a purple small-ish spot light for my rock garden/picket fence. Anyone know where they are sold? My last one came from Target but it corroded out and they are not selling them this year. I try not to use the honk'n big ones because it is too much on the circuits.

My DDs stuffed cat, her woobie though childhood made by Ty is named Boo.

That cat when new looked real. Now squishy loved. My Mom bought her a similar one when she was about 6 and my Mom really intended to toss the old one but we would not let her. Then the worst happened, DD left it at my Moms house, DD didn't trust my Mom not to toss it (I didn't either) so over two hours round trip I had to go get it that night.

Treat others as you want to be treated. Today, we had a visitor arrive to see my boss at work. The visitor was arrogant toward a few people in our office; he acted like he was king of the hill. (I didn't care for his attitude.)

So, my boss asked if someone could bring the visitor a cup of coffee, as he had just flown in on a long flight and was tired. I offered to bring the coffee in. About 45 minutes later, my boss came out again and asked if I'd mind getting the visitor another cup, because the man was really jet-lagged and exhausted. I said I'd be happy to do so, and brought in cup # 2 to the visitor, and smiled sweetly at him.

Visitor didn't have a clue that I was bringing him decaf coffee. Don't mess with the help . . . :hilarious:

I just saw a Christmas commercial....that's crazy.

I was walking around Kohls on Sunday morning, and in the back corner of the store, they already had brought out some Christmas trees, lights, decorations, wreaths, etc. I walked away from all that as quickly as I could--I mean, it was only Sept. 14. It's not even Halloween yet! :banghead:

I want to talk about yesterday, but I don't know how much of it I can talk about here. It focuses on these Brazilians I met there from São Paulo. You all know what is currently under construction there; right? A Bombardier (evolved Disney) monorail. And, wow, did she have a lot to say about the system under construction there - all very, very positive!
