I just watched the Haunted Mansion movie for the first time. Considering what I've heard from others, it actually wasn't that bad. Of course, the movie doesn't do the ride justice, but when does it ever?

I'll be doing Ghost Host impersonations the whole night. (HM is, by far, my favorite attraction )

I have used a taxi exactly once before at WDW...and that was in 2011 to get from MK to La Nouba because I forgot the showtime by mistake and we needed to get there in less than 20 minutes.

Tonight it took me nearly 2 hours to get from Animal Kingdom Lodge to POFQ, hopping through DTD. The issue wasn't AKL, though they did have the Kidani stop after Jambo...

The issue was DTD. We got there around 10:00, and by 10:45 I gave up on a bus (after 3 Saratoga Springs busses had passed through...they share our stop) and the kid and I walked to the Taxi service near World of Disney, stopping along the way to pick up a toy for the kid. We pulled out around 11p, and drove by the bus stop of the way, and the bus STILL hadn't arrived. Not sure what happened, but dang!

Man, we should have hopped through MK to get home!

I watched it for the first time a few months ago, and I also didn't think it was all that bad. Was it great? No. But it wasn't terrible.

Unfortunantly, the same can not be said for Country Bears!

Downtown Disney and the Water Parks have the worst bus service. And AKL tends to have really bad bus service as well. That's partially why we don't stay there, coupled with having to take a bus to get everywhere. The three resorts where we own you can walk to at least one park and another park has easy access. We don't like feeling so far out.

Silly question, but why didn't you take the boat?

Not a silly question. The kid didn't want to (I offered several times). By the time I'd parental veto'd the wait at the bus stop, the Cabs were closer. It's a longer story having to do with how we wanted to spend the rest of the night, which didn't happen anyhow. But, yes, I didn't forget about them.

Also, I've not experienced anything like this at DTD before. CBR had 2 busses, Saratoga Springs and Coronado Springs, several busses. AoA and Pop, same story. Heck, even the Monorail Loop resorts had more than one bus cycle through...

It was just a mess. There were plenty of people far more upset than I (and let the poor SS bus drivers who stopped know it too!)...

Think of it like this: When you Actually get there in Nov 2014 New Fantasyland will probably be finally done.

That was on the reason list for waiting. My husband is by NO means a Disney hater but my parents come with us EVERY time we go - and we simply could not go without them the kids would be devastated and so would my parents - but going on family vacation with your in laws is a bit much EVERY year. I feared if we went another year he may veto 2014 and then I wouldn't get to see FLE for 2 years - so I put on a pre-emotive ban for 2013 to ensure 2014. We're going to go on a cruise for his 40th in January. Sans kids. Non Dinsey so we can gamble. He should be ready again for a week with my parents come next November.

Just here for a quick moment while DH is at the eye doctor. I just wanted to say that there is plenty of room on the forums for trip reports - no need to duplicate them here. This thread is just for fun stuff!

We've had some really long waits at DTD. More recently not so much. I'm taking my brother to Disneyquest tomorrow, so hopefully the busses won't be running poorly.

Are you saying Disney isn't fun????;)

englanddg already has a trip report. My post are more to aggravate you all (I know all of you know I'm just teasing). I don't believe in WDW trip reports. Actually, I don't do them because I go so often. I did one for New Fantasyland when it came and Disneyland (though I need to finish that one!) but other than that, they would look pretty much the same. An occasional post, just like if I were at home and talking about something that happened. I already did my rant about something in another section
