Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
There were plans to put gyms in each of the two new buildings we were gonna' build and move into down the road from this one just before everything tanked. Things are hummin' along nicely again, so we'll see how it all plays out this time around...

Yeah, I don't blame corp's for being cautious. Things are going better but man so many are still shaky as they try to rebuild. We are shakier than most in Illinois. Most everyone knows the bottom could fall out of this recovery in short order.

Oh yea, All in the Family was very popular at our house, too, especially with my pop. We lived in Northern California at the time, and times they were a changin'. And, I agree about the tolerance through humor aspect. I actually understood quite a bit about what was goin' on with the show. Archie was never portrayed as any type of role model to aspire to, until maybe later when even he too started to change.
And again, as I've posted before, we watched The Jefferson's, Good Times, etc., all the same.

Cute about DDs name.

And yes, I too still kinda' long for a bit of those simpler times when most TV was indeed, truly, family friendly.
Some of the stuff that the supposed "ABC Family" airs these days just blows my mind.

One of the things my DH use to do with my DD when she was home from college was watch a movie on DVD. She quickly learned that there were far more movies that she could not watch with dear 'ole dad than ones she could. They were watching one together as she was baking cookies and he picked on spot on his newspaper and stared. Now she keeps a list of what they could watch together.

Many years ago, my dad and I watched part of Eddie Murphy's Raw together.
Part of. Once.

Not running up to the hospital this time.

My much loved Uncle Paul (married to my mom's oldest sister) was taken to hospital yesterday with pneumonia. While there, he suffered a minor stroke. I had planned to go up later this evening.

My other Auntie (not his wife) just called me for the fifth time today. (I nearly didn't answer.) Her sister just called. Uncle Paul is unresponsive and has been moved to Palliative Care.
This means the hospital thinks this is the end and that he will be checking out soon.

Growing up, I had three Uncles. Two by marriage, whom I adored, and one biological, who creeped me right out. My other favourite Uncle, died 10 years ago.

Time to hop in the shower and cry it out.

Hubby agrees with me. Last time I was with Uncle Paul, we had a wonderful visit. That's how I want to leave it.

Oy. Hope the A/C units arrive and are installed.

My DD tried the Little Cesar's that just opened by her work. Like it better than the Domino's they also have near them.
funnily.. little caesar pretty much went bankrupt in most towns.
People prefer Papa john's of the "premium" brands.

I'm thinking I should increase my life insurance.

If anything were to ever happen to me, they will need to hire someone to: load and unload the dishwasher, replace the empty toilet paper roll, change the milk bags, and scoop cat litter.

Apparently none of the men in the house know how to do any of these tasks.
or just PRETEND they dont know?

My mom wanted to watch Orange is the New Black with me and I had to explain why I am not starting up the Netflix app until she leaves... She honestly did not know what that show has a lot of.:angelic:

Great Pacific garbage island is shrinking

th

Not really, garbage pickers are just recycling some of it. Researchers believe the Island may become permanent.
Ewe.
Still disgusting how many people throw garbate.
I know of many companies and people who just trash and claim "aah the sea is big, nothing happens!"

Two Harvard Students invent Spray Cake, Cake in a Can.

I still cringe when people make cakes or stuff like that using the microwave.. those are not cakes! these are just waffles/hotcakes :/

Also, I wonder how long until we get food like the movie"THE FIFTH ELEMENT".

insert chicken bean into machine.. 2 secs later.. instant full sized chicken!

It's my day off, and I don't have to be anywhere until 5:00.

A) Thinking about showering and getting dressed.
B) Also thinking about making a great big batch of spaghetti sauce.

Sadly, I have to do A before I can do B.
you really need a night suit and full formal gear to eat spaghetti? "Amateur"
:hilarious:

I always blame CNN and a slow news week.

Who killed Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman?

Clearly not OJ - the glove did not fit.
So, who else benefits? CNN.
I wonder if cnn will break the record on milking on the news.
they did it for almost a full blown month with the disappearance of the first Malaysia plane.
