We'll save that for @Nemo14 in case she wants that instead of the other puppets.

Your last sentence above really sums us what is very common, and that's not just for elderly patients, but across all age groups. Medical issues are often complicated, and this may take a while before the doctors can determine what's going on, and how to proceed. In the interim, they will try to keep her as comfortable as possible.

So all you can do for now is either visit her, or call her on the phone once in a while, to help keep her spirits up. I hope they find a positive resolution to her medical problems.

Yep, they kept my MIL for 5 days when she had passed out over the winter months. She did have the stomach flu but ultimately after every freak'n test heiadle hyrnea which is pretty common in the elderly that was causing acid reflux which can sure make you feel icky.

But the thing with @PUSH Grandma is if they found bleeding (easy to check for) if it isn't coming from the stomach like they thought, where the heck is it coming from? I'd want them to keep her too until they find out where cause it was enough to give her a transfusion. In all the times my DH started bleeding out they never gave him a transfusion. It does take a while though for them to narrow it down. It went on for a couple of months with my DH and they even thought it was caused by a hyrnea he had from a child and did surgery to fix. Nope. So his Doc said stress. He didn't have stress issues at that time. The surgeon went around the GP Doc and ordered an upper and lower GI and found half his tummy had a massive ulcer. With meds he was better in a few days. Fired the GP.
