Oh, I forgot to share another internet story with you.

When my mom went down to the CenturyLink office to see what was up with our internet, she also asked why our internet was always so slow. The woman told her it's because we have the lowest of the three options they offer. This was after my mom asked why our internet bill had jumped up randomly a few months ago (it was because some contract or something was up, and they don't bother to tell customers when they do, instead they just increase their rates). Then the lady said she could reduce our bill to 30 or 40 dollars, even with us upgrading to the best internet service available.

The Good: Our internet speed should get noticeably better by Wednesday when they upgrade it.

The Bad: They don't bother to tell people that contracts end and increase your bill to super-high amounts, when you could be getting a much better internet service for less. The ethics just aren't there. My mom said if there was another option here, she'd be leaving CenturyLink. I don't blame her.

Hmm. I was just thinking that "business ethics" might be an oxymoron (well, at least for some businesses). ;)
