My auntie (almost like my second mom growing up) is home from Africa.
I feel like the weight of the world has been lifted from my shoulders.

We had a wonderful hour long conversation on the phone, and made plans for her to come over tomorrow for dinner, and then we're going to the show. (Maleficent, again.)

Pretty sure she's going to be giving my boys a good talking-to in the near future.

Sounds promising. Hope they listen to her!

That's great news. I know how special she is to you. Enjoy your time together catching up!

Me, I have never been a cast member. Someday I hope to push a broom down Main Street USA with my DH and draw water animation pictures with my mop when we retire.
This is our plan as well.

@brifraz - Get off the internet and enjoy your vacation!

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

She is very excited that I am off work again.

We will be starting up another NGO child care project in Mwanza. Her children do not support the idea of her spending 6 months out of every year in Africa, especially at her age. She will be turning 70 this September, and they want her to stay put in Canada. In some aspects, they are just thinking of themselves and do not understand her calling. Africa has been in her heart for more than 30 years.

So, as much as she supports me, I support her.

I remember the first time we were at a WDW water park and they told everyone to get out of the water for storms in the area. It was sunny all blue sky and then we heard thunder but couldn't see any clouds.

Most waterparks and park districts use a ThorGuard system. It flashes and sounds a specific to it serine. Thor is generally set to go off when there is lightening detected within 5 miles. When it is all clear, usually set for 30 minutes after the last detected lightening strike is detected it emits another but different siren sound.

So if Blizzard is temporarily closed it is possible that Typoon 4 miles away could be open, depending on where and which direction the storm is coming from and heading. Often at Disney Thor is hidden but they all have walkie talkies and communicate at the pools. The waterparks have runner head type guards that communicate to their assigned section.

You're gonna' love this then...
One of my all-time favorite easy breezy sandwiches is just sliced tomatoes, sliced cheddar, and mayo. :hungry:

Me too with a little variation. Tomato, Mozzarella cheese and creamy garlic dressing sandwich.

I also love radish, (sometime cucumber) salt pepper mayo sandwich.

And then the ultimate, fresh picked cucumber, finely diced sweet onion and mayo sandwich,

Finally caught up!! Felt like a horse with a carrot the past few days. That last post just stayed a consistent 40 posts away!!

*hides the carrot* I swear I had nothing to do with that!

Not looking good for this afternoon. The rain amounts really varied overnight. I heard the thunder around 3am. Thought I should pick up my phone and check the radar in case storms were becoming dangerous. Instead I rolled over and went back to sleep. Ultimately we had about 1/4 inch while most received 3/4 of inch while some received over 2 inches, Iowa in some areas had 4" out of the same storm clusters.

Cautions on news that there is likely to be tornado warnings, strong wind sheers and circulating cloud formations. Joy Joy Wind Sheers kinda scare me after a year or so ago when my neighbor across the streets 2 story Christmas Tree uprooted and root ball transplanted on the street and the Tree half way up the front of my property. Same storm had one of those big huge Fun Umbrellas airborne and landed in the pool of my DDs waterpark with patrons still in the pool as there wasn't any rain or thunder at the time.

Seems you guys getting hit hard.

Last night we had our first strong storm with big winds here..
Pretty sure it was related to the tropical storm that is heading our way.

hopefully the storm douglas wont push it towards us.. and the storm will dissipate soon in the sea.
