They probably realized they were losing a very successful series and need something to fill its slot in the fall. I read that it's the front runner to get a full season. I don't believe it's going to follow the mother from HIMYM, though. The mom in the new series is going to be called Sally I think. Meg Ryan is going to play the Bob Saget roll and voice the future mother. At least they're staying consistent with this thraed, Bob Saget and Meg.

Yeah it is very hard for lightning to strike twice. I have the same issue with the Breaking Bad prequel. Yes, what you made the first time was great, but the story is over. Bring us something new.
Or they find out mid-story that the kids were actually mixed up with other children at birth, so they have to start the entire series over. That'd buy them an extra few seasons.

Don't tell anyone, but there's going to be a new late night show on CBS. The reports of Stephen Colbert taking over for Letterman are false. What's actually going to happen is a new show entirely. It'll be featuring yours truly and it will be called Trash Talking with PUSH. My first guest is set to be Bob Saget, followed by Nic Cage. The next night's show will feature Gary Busey, so we have animal control standing by for that episode. A nightly feature of my show will be "The Big BM". In this segment we will be blaming Meg for various things.
Never watched that show. Instead of ABCFamily they should called it ABCTeenageGirl.
