Wait until it's your kid, and you're the one expected to clean up after him.

My kids are even worse, as they know the cleaning lady will pick up after them.
Hubby keeps telling me to not let her clean their rooms. The problem is, I can't bear paying $130 (or $65 every other week) for her to leave two rooms a disaster zone.

On the plus side, they will be moving out soon enough, at which point we are promptly downsizing to a bungalow half the size of this place. That way, if they want to move back, they can live in the basement.
I have a feeling I'm going to be a hard- when it comes to that type of stuff as a parent.

And don't get too excited. Some kids don't leave the nest when most do.

Actually, I think my dad would be okay with me living here until I'm 30 because he wants rent.

I'm the only one who drinks milk consistently in my house. I go through about a gallon every 2-4 days, depending on the mood.

Your sons sound like my brother. Leaving things everywhere, expecting someone else to pick it up. He puts empty ketchup bottles back in the fridge, and they'll get shoved to the back, so we'll have 3 or 4 empty bottles there at once. He also has a problem finishing things off. For example, if an orange juice is almost empty, he'll open a new one and leave the other orange juice alone. Too lazy to deal with it. Drives me nuts!
That is a very normal system for those that, up to that point, have never had to buy anything. My kids were like that until they were out on their own and had to pay for it. Now they squeeze every last drop out of even glass bottles. It's kind of heart warming for parents to see. :)
Leaving things in the fridge comes from not having to clean up spoiled food from it. Yet another heart warming thing for parents to witness.:inlove:

I can't imagine mayo on fries. My DD's little Sis for Special Olympics dipped her fries in Mayo and my DD nearly lost it. Salted, Seasoning Salt, Ketchup or Malt Vinegar. Though I am becoming a big fan of REAL Poutine fries. Too many restaurants are creating their own version that are not good, but the Canadian version of Poutine, yum.
Pommes Frites ...very European.

It must be good mayo though.

In this house, it's me and my mom who do that type of stuff. My brother and dad leave things laying behind all the time.

My kids go through 5-7 individual bags/day. Each bag is 1.33l, so 3 would be close to a gallon. I spend approx $10/day on milk!

Too much work for Canadian teenagers too.
My cutlery drawer is full of the little snipped plastic bag ends. I have to clean them out constantly.
Apparently changing the milk bag is like changing the toilet roll ... neither wants to do it if they don't have to. More often than not, they will just put the empty jug/bag back in the fridge for the next unsuspecting sucker.
I used to go through milk like crazy, but I'm losing my tolerance for dairy the last year or so. Now if I buy a gallon I never seem to finish it in time. But if I buy anything smaller, it's never enough.

I usually buy milk in half gallon containers. I never drink milk but use it for cooking. I usually end up throwing half of it down the drain, but, when I just buy a quart it is never enough.

Never had the Poutine stuff before. But, you know me, I'd try it in a heartbeat...! :)

The only version of poutine I've had is at Le Cellier, but man, they do it well. Would love to try real poutine someday.

I started out a hard-, and then life, and circumstances, and caring for dying parents, etc. just beat me down.

I can live without rent. I want peace, sanity, and "coffee" in the living room whenever I feel like it.
