Interrupting our regularly scheduled program for an unrelated observation from today:

Clothing-obsessed, invisible gremlin thieves—every home has them, but not many people talk about it. I had a nice spring suit jacket that I put away in an off-season clothing pile, at the beginning of last winter. Seeing as it's starting to feel like spring, I had planned to take this nice spring suit jacket to the cleaners today. I looked everywhere and it's no where to be found.

That started me thinking about the clothes dryer invisible gremlins thieves, whose specialty is stealing socks. You put your socks in the dryer and it never fails—there's always one missing when you take the socks out of the dryer. All the other clothes come out, but not all the socks.

Anyone have any ideas about how to rid your home of these invisible gremlin-thieving pests?!

I'm actually being productive.

I'm writing a lesson plan that's not even due this week! Granted, there's a rough draft (aka a rough idea of what we're going to do) due tomorrow. I just know if I procrastinate with this I'll have 45903769834 things due that same week, and I don't want a repeat of last semester when I was working non-stop (besides the stops I made on this thraed) for the final two weeks of the semester in order to get caught up.

2 words: Downy and Bounce. OK that's 3 words.

Since I started using the double combo of fabric softener I lose less socks - that is - less socks attach themselves to the of my yoga pants (which are NOT used for yoga and should be called gluttonous loose waistband pants) and I am better able to keep track of them. Or - the April fresh smell wards off the Gremlins.

Good advice, and it must be the scent that wards them off. Does make you wonder what they've done with all the socks they've hoarded from me and thousands of others down through the years!
