One Little Spark...
: o

I've been knocking on the door that holds the throne
I've been looking for the map that leads me home
I've been stumbling on good hearts turned to stone
The road of good intentions has gone dry as bone
We take care of our own
We take care of our own
Wherever this flag's flown
We take care of our own

From Chicago to New Orleans
From the muscle to the bone
From the shotgun shack to the Super Dome
There ain't no help, the cavalry stayed home,
There ain't no one hearing the bugle blowin'
We take care of our own
We take care of our own
Wherever this flag's flown
We take care of our own

Where're the eyes, the eyes with the will to see
Where's the hearts that run over with mercy
Where's the love that has not forsaken me
Where's the work that'll set my hands, my soul free
Where's the spirit to reign rain over me
Where's the promise, from sea to shining sea
Where's the promise, from sea to shining sea
Wherever this flag is flown
Wherever this flag is flown
Wherever this flag is flown

We take care of our own
We take care of our own
Wherever this flag's flown
We take care of our own
We take care of our own
We take care of our own
Wherever this flag's flown
We take care of our own

Let's go the American test now!

http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjkiebus/how-stereotypically-american-are-you

You checked off 38 out of 100 on this list!

You’re as American as Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s No. 8 Budweiser car. You’re steady, passionate, and proud. You know the American dream is real because you’re living it every day.
Apparently 38/100 is a die-hard American...

It's even more bleak than that. I only got 29 out of 100 and I'm in the exact same category as you are above!

Taco cat spelled backwards is taco cat.

And EVIAN spelled backwards is NAIVE (from the movie Reality Bites).

Ewe, ewe, ewe.

I get Beer Bread from Tastefully Simple (semi-homemade cooking stuff sold at parties like Tupperware) and it's delicious. Of course it comes in a beautiful gourmet looking box that does NOT have a sweaty looking guy in a cut-sleeve flannel shirt.

I like grape Fanta. Of course I grew up on Grape Nehi and Cherikee Red. (Not that any of you youngins ;) know what that stuff is I bet.)

Grape Nehi was an old-timey grape pop that started in the late 1920's. Most people may remember Radar on MASH talking about it. Every week for safety patrol in elementary school we would get a glass bottle of it to take home. Cherikee Red is a cherry flavored soda that came out in 1969. That and Kool-Aid was always in the fridge growing up. :hungry:

We still get Nehi grape somewhat regularly. It is my go-to drink while driving to Disney. Most of the Wawa's and Sheetz' as you drive down I95 south of Maryland have Grape Nehi hidden away in the cooler. Now if only I could find Suburban sodas - I don't remember what the flavor was supposed to be, but red was my favorite.

It's 10 pm on a Friday night, and I'm thinking of just going to bed.

I'm an absolutely pathetic college student.

No worries - I was in bed when you wrote that. And I see by your posts, you were up for another hour plus!

By the way, 29 on the American quiz and 25 on the Canadian quiz. Too polite and anti-reality show to be American, but too much of a Nascar fan and outdoorsy person to be Canadian (although I'm not sure how hiking and camping make me more American, I would say that both are done by less than 50% of Americans as a whole).
