I rode this a couple time a long time ago in Seven Springs, PA. Sounds similar but the tracks doesn't appear to be made of concrete. (Disclaimer: Picture from their website, not of me)

A leisurely ride on the Cortina chairlift precedes the excitement you’ll feel as you place your sled onto the tracks of the Alpine Slide. Once aboard this twisting and turning track built directly into the ski slope, you’ll zoom down 1,980 feet of downhill thrills on a two-wheeled sled equipped with a handlebrake for speed control.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
The Alpine Slide POV videos on youtube are insane. That's where most of the injuries occurred (with my friends). Nothing like sitting on a 12 inch by 12 inch seat and flying down a mountain on a concrete slide. Good times.
We had something similar in Collingwood called the Great Slide Ride. It too, was removed for safety reasons. Hubby and I rode it many times without incident.
For me, the scariest part was taking the ski lift to the top of the mountain.

From Wikipedia:
In 1977 they added the Blue Mountain Slide Ride in order to provide summer income. The Slide Ride consisted of a 2,000-foot (610 m) long mini-bobsled track with sleds on Teflon runners or a single wheel. Riders used the Inn Triple lift to bring themselves and their sled to the top of the hill, selecting one of two tracks to run back down. Speed was controlled with a lever that pressed the wheel down onto the track, doing so lifted the nose off the Teflon runners and increased speed. The Alpine Slide Ride was retired after the 1998-99 winter season.[4]

It has since been replaced with the Ridge Runner Mountain Coaster.

It's so weird that there is snow on the ground - but I guess that's Canada, eh?.

I just saw the trailer for the Jersey Boys movie (Clint Eastwood is directing). Frankie Valli is being played by the original Broadway actor. Tommy DeVito is played by the guy who is Lucky Luciano on Boardwalk Empire. The play is amazing - I hope the movie captures the same vibe. I generally LOVE movies based on the lives of musicians (Buddy Holly Story, Selena, La Bamba, etc.) so I have high hopes.

Not going up there to look for the model number.

Forgot I had put this in the old multi-quote last night. We have an Atari 2600 - back when we got it there really was no knowledge of the number, it was just 'an Atari.' Ours still works and is hooked up. Every once in a while, we play a little Space Invaders or Circus Atari (always loved that game - Breakout with clowns as the balls and you had to line them up on a teeter-totter on the correct side or they splatted to death on the ground).

@brifraz I just noticed your lengthy wdw history in your signature and my eyes glazed over. Do you have a dedicated resort or try a new place each time?

Either way, that's an impressive list!

For the past few years we have been DVC and our home resort is Old Key West so we go there more than other places. Back in the 70s, we stayed with family in Orlando (who are now all long past). I've also stayed at Caribbean Beach, Disney Institute (when it first opened, great deal), Port Orleans FQ, Boardwalk, Beach Club, Bay Lake Tower, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Saratoga Springs, All-Star Music. This summer we are doing 2 nights at Grand Floridian (all we can afford), then 5 nights at OKW.
