I like "Golden Girls", but, have seen every episode so many times. I think I pretty much tune in these days just to see a coupla' shots of the house from Residential Street on the old Backlot Tour. ;) :)
I hope that this doesn't burst your magic bubble, but, Golden Girls was on the air long before Disney/MGM was built. The one you see on TV in the show, was from the backlot in Hollywood. Does look the same though. Golden Girls debut was in 1985 and ran until 1992. The park wasn't built until 88/89 and opened in May of 1989. So it was already on the air for 4 years before the Florida structure was even built. It is possible, because everything is possible, that they might have used some footage from Florida, but, the odds are they didn't.

Hmmm...?
I knew all a' that about when the show started and when the Park opened. I was under the impression that (from a tram driver, I think ) those sets were completed and being utilized long before the Park opened to the public.
Come to think of it, though, I think I remember the tram driver sayin' he heard it from a bus driver... o_O

;) :)

See in my inbox this morning...

Subject: Don't Miss Bob Saget

but it was from ticketmaster announcing one of his shows locally :)

And just for pure rant... seats are $35.50 but the FEES are $14.50!! And magically the fees for cheaper tickets are somehow less too.

Lets all not forget how much we all hate these ticket sellers

My current location.

Frank Sinatra is playing over the very well hidden speakers. It smells lightly like gardenia and money here.

I love this place. Starbucks is off the lobby, so when I'm out of work early, I come here and drink my fancy green tea lemonade medium ice no sugar venti in the fancy lobby.

Come find me. I'm the only one wearing cheery, bright colors here.

It took me years to be able to watch him in other movies without thinking of him as Martin.

I still can't. To me he will always be the scariest person out there. Nothing creepier than someone that APPEARS normal but isn't.

It's a sign you should be spending more time in this thread - for free ;)

I did find this about the GG's house. Scroll down to the large paragraph above the last pic...

Seems they used a Brentwood, CA area home for the first season and then the Disney/MGM Studios replica for the remainder of the shows seasons.

I love that the website is iamnotastalker.com
