Yeah, that's what I've got a problem with. That's not custard. This is custard.

I'm not gonna lie. I'd eat the hell out of that and show it no mercy.

Just curious, since we all seem to post morning-day-night here. What does everyone do for a living? I know a few Sageteers are students...

I'm a secretary/receptionist/office manager/ copy and file clerk/phone operator. I kinda do everything in the office that the boss doesn't do.

There are some similarities between your job and mine. My position is in a very large hospital setting, and I work for sr. medical management. Each day presents it own unique challenges, and it can be exhausting. I like many of the people though; we can always find something amusing to chat about! :)

35 years as what? Chef? Waiter? Bar? Services? 35 years is a long time!
Started as hospitality for a year then moved into the kitchen to learn line, bakery and grill for eight years. Then accepted a management position for the rest of the time. I would still fill in wherever needed though. My last year I was moved into an office focusing on paperwork, etc., and hated it. It was putting a strain on my health and family so I stepped away from it.

We don't have Culvers, we have Handels.
We use to have to go to Wisconsin for Culvers. Now a few have moved into Illinois. I like Culvers 'cause they have choice well beyond the standard QS choices.

We also just started to get Sonic's though none are really close or cross my path often. I love me some Cherry Limeade

Ahh true. Frozen Custard came from Coney Island. They added more egg yolk so the ice cream wouldn't melt as quickly. Wisconsinites love the stuff, I like it too here and there but it is very heavy and is very similar to gelato.

I flop between loving Gihardelli's for real Ice Cream and Dairy Queen for my soft serve choice. I love the taste of Dairy Queen and it is much lighter than Custard or Gelato. The Dairy Queen in the next town over closes from late October till late February or early March. I was in the gas station yesterday and saw the tables back outside and the boards off the windows. I was so freak'n excited. It won't be long before I'm lick'n a cone or ordering extra hot fudge on my DQ Sundae.

Ok who turned on the haunted mansion switch? Its like a ghost town on here tonight
This makes me think of our last ride on HM. We got stopped for ten minutes and there wasn't any music or sound effects but everything propwise kept moving. Five minutes after the initial stop some work lights (I don't know what to call them) had come on. Unfortunately we had just entered the graveyard scene next to a skull that kept popping up from behind a tombstone. It was cool to see some of the ghosts with the lights on but we must have heard that skull go "whoosh" hundreds of times!

Too much standardized testing, not enough learning and application. Just my opinion.

Yeah, I hear that and to an extent I understand that from a students point of view. But there are so many points of view on curriculum and you need a standard to judge if the districts are keeping up with the state, the nation and the world. For decades we did the required state and one national.

We finally realized from no child left behind testing that some of our kids failed to make progress each year without just cause. We now do an additional test, beginning (month after), middle (January) and end of a school year (May). It isn't long and hits the core subjects to make sure students are making progress each term in each subject while the educators can still right the ship. It was as much of a double check for the students as it was also used to evaluate some of our staff. We were always in the upper percentile of student achievement but there was always an excuse for the students that lagged behind. After implementing this 3rd test, 4 years now, we have less students lagging. To me it is a Win.

My favorite soft serve is the Kohrs orange swirl in Point Pleasant

Regular ice cream my favorite is the Bent Spoon in Princeton. The serving sizes are stupidly small, but the flavors are awesome.
