Who wants to hide and scare Spuds when he comes back?
I noticed the same when I was there in Feb.
Doubtful it's the ride control systems (which would be the computers). First, they are isolated for each ride, so it wouldn't really matter if one breaks, it wouldn't cause another to do so as well. I would suspect mechanical failures or guest loading issues (for omnimovers / boat rides).
But, I did notice rides breaking more while I was there as well...but I wrote it off as a one time thing. I was going during off season, and a bunch of the major rides were closed for refurb (which upset me).
Guess not.
Unfortunately it was not a one time thing. We encountered at least three ride breakdowns per day. And Matterhorn, Space Mountain, and Pirates breaking down at the same time was just nuts. Thankfully the only ride down for a refurb was Big Thunder, but they're replacing the track in its entirety, so I understood it would take a while, and I'll be in WDW in August anyway. I have to wonder what the issue is. That, and the entire time I was there, despite the 60 minute wait, they were not using the third elevator shaft on Tower of Terror. When Radiator Springs Racers broke down, there was nearly a revolt.
So when I went to find a picture of the world's largest "M" (located in Wisconsin), I scrolled down in Google images and found a picture of a guy I know. And where is the picture from? Disneyland. And what site was it on? The site for Ellen Degeneres' talk show. Weird, huh?

He's due in at sunrise.
