I'd like to take this opportunity to put a little hate out there for ice. We got 1/2 an inch of it. No power for the last 9 hours and lots of trees and branches down. Worried that a dogwood tree that I have been babying for the past 8 years is going to meet it's demise. Our power came back on about an hour ago, which was good because we were starting to lose some significant heat - which is slowly getting back to normal. Hope @StarWarsGirl95 has power - for a while there, the total folks without power in our area was over 100,000. Back down a bit now. The school my wife teaches at has been opened as a shelter.
We have power. We rarely lose it thankfully. Lines are underground. We didn't even lose it during Sandy (had both power and internet. Excellent time to work on college applications). I've heard a lot about kids with no power. Roads were bad. We should not have gone today. My school likes to make poor decisions. Thanks for asking :)

At least you are safe. :)
On the way too school, roads were bad because of the storm. On the way back,, roads were better, but I nearly got rammed on the expressway by someone trying to merge into me:banghead:. Thankfully I was in the right lane and went into the shoulder, but it freaked me out. He would have hit me and then the person behind me mkght have hit me or had to slam on their brakes, and I...seriously need to stop thinking about it

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Well, my unexpected weather-day unfortunately coincided with my cleaning lady day.

She is now gone, and I am going to grab a quick snooze on the couch.

These 12-14 hour days after being off for 9 months, have taken their toll.

Catch ya after the news.
