Where I ended up

I forgot to update on here since a lot of you are following my MySpace blog (well some of you are). Some of you who have talked with me since the start of this I want to thank again by the way. I finished my Spring CP on May 16th. While I enjoyed working attractions at Epic, I'm glad to say that I did get accepted as a full time Entertainment Technician. They were impressed with my resume and didn't hesitate to take me in. I'm based out of Magic Kingdom and have already worked on a few shows there (like DAWM, Woody's Cowboy Camp, Family Fun Day Parade, etc) and was slotted to work on the Wishes show. It's a rough job but it pays well and since we are global, we get to see a lot of stuff many people don't (I've already climbed to the top of Cinderella's Castle, heh). Either way, thanks again to everyone on this board who helped answer questions or followed along. I'm still on here now and then, so feel free to drop a line.

Well, I'm eventually hoping to end up in Imagineering, but my next "short term" goal is to get into the design group for Entertainment. Seems like a logical stepping stone. It'll probably take a year or two, but I tend to move up in jobs pretty quickly and I've networked like crazy over here. Networking is definitely the key to success at Disney.

Whats your ultimate goal? Mine is ending up somewhere that has something to to with traditional animation, perhaps an animator but what I really want to do is Direct or be a concept artist.

Take a good look into that. One of my teachers is a former Disney animator and he's told some horror stories and I've heard the same from other Disney animators. I prefer to stick to the theme park part.

LOL yes I've heard the horror stories, most of them come from being an animator which is why I'd prefer to direct or do the concept art so I'd know I had an actual say in the characters final appearance!

Thanks. I'm not stopping here. Ultimate goal is the Show Design Group and then Imagineering at some point. Next stop is Wishes.
