Where else do you go for vacation?

Hopefully mkt, we can remove the US flag from Puerto Rico soon. It's not right that the residents of PR should have to suffer under the yoke of Yanqui domination. Much better to be a friend of Cuba and/or Venezuela.
Ouch... as a native mainlander who has chosen PR to be his home, I'm quite offended. I'm guessing you aren't aware of the pitiful minority that constitutes the pro-independence crowd here. The largest percentage of voters here are pro-status quo with the pro-statehood crowd not far behind.

As for Cuba and Venezuela. I've been to both places, and while I know the Cuba I saw was what Castro wants all tourists to see, I still found the people there to be more genuinely welcoming than most Yanquis I ever meet. The same goes for Venezuela. No one there hates Americans. The leader does, but the normal everyday citizens could care less what passport you carry.

Unfortunately, people are blinded to the truth by the lies they are told to believe... this applies to all countries and all people. Don't believe me? DHS is tantamount to nothing more than a 21st century SS masquerading under US colors.

Have a magical day :)

Just a comment from one of the Idiots that travel in packs here.......

You stayed at the AZTEC????? That itching should stop in a week or so. Could've warned you since I'm a few towns away from the lovely little seaside resort town of Seaside Hts.

Gotta get back to the pack.

:ROFLOL: :ROFLOL: :ROFLOL: I live in good ole Toms River...I hear what you are saying! Oooooo...the Aztec. The best is that at that end of the boardwalk, it just gets seedier. It's a rare occasion we walk to that end, like a freak dense fog may lead us that way. I cannot believe they let that place still operate.
A word of advise, if anyone is thinking of traveling to the Jersey Shore, post a thread here and we'll help you out on travel recommendations!

You make money when you come to the US, we lose it when we go to Europe (exchange rate)! Also, most Americans go for 1 week vacations ( ) as you Brit's pack up for a month (lucky).

 I don't know anyone who goes away for a month! Most people have 1 week, 10 day or 2 week holidays!

We went to the DVC resort on Hilton Head a few years ago and were hooked. We bought a place there, so that's our other vacation now. When our girls were younger, we'd just do WDW sometimes 3 times a year.

Depends how we feel each year but in addition to going to Disney in last 5 years we have done Kenya (Safari), Spain, Greece, Tunisia, Tenerife, Ibiza and Rhodes. We hope to do San Francisco, LA and Las Vegas next year and take in DL at same time...hopefully but it's a long way from the UK.:sohappy:

Same here, but I've seen people on the boards state this before. As far as cost goes, from what most of you guys say you spend on a disney trip ( few thousand dollars) I seem to spend roughly the same, even though I travel thousands of miles to get there. The only difference really is airfare, which is so cheap these days (Last year we flew UK to florida return for £110 - $220)

Every year we try to go someplace we have no been before. This past year was A cruise to the Caribbean. Last year we went to London and Paris and next year we want to goto Italy but we might not because of the exchange rate and high airfare. We wanted to stay at a Villa in Tuscany.

Heck even just a few miles away from Seaside Heights and going to Island Beach State park would have been a nicer visit to the shore than Seaside Heights beach, plus you pay for a carload and get showers and bathrooms without having to buy beach badges.

Cape May is great and there are lots of B&B's actually right on the same road, next to each other actually. Breakfast was great homemade blueberry french toast with cream cheese.

Was the irony intentional, or did you mean to drive Mr. Godwin's turnip cart into a wall?

The Poconos!!!! You'll have to take a trip up here soon as Mount Airy is re-opening!

We have been going to disney yearly, in addition to Hershey and then Wildwood for the Irish Festival....

Luckily my parents are moving to Daytona next month. Can you say free sleeping quarters and food!

We'll be in FLA quite a bit now!
:)
Thats so funny, I do the same thing. Go to Hershey and Wildwood for a week in the Summer and back down to Wildwood in Sept for Irish weekend.:p

we have a static holiday caravan (trailer?) at Selsey on the south coast of England, not far from Portsmouth, it's an ideal escape on a friday after a busy week, just pack some clothes, jump in the car and in less than 2 hours we're away from everything

We usually do Disney once a year (last year we went twice which was a real treat) and then a small driving vacation. We've done Williamsburg numerous times and are hoping to see Boston in the fall.

NJ is right around the corner (about a 2 hour drive to any shore line). I understand about the unique motels at the beach and that's part of the fun! haha! Love the salt water taffy and fudge. Plus there is that certain sea breeze smell that you get when traveling over the bridge.

Went camping in the Black Hills of SD with the family. It was awesome - Rushmore is great, but there are so many lakes, caves, fun all around.

Last year the wife and I visited all the Disney theme parks all around the world. It was a spectacular experience.

But, I was most fond of France with all its surrounding beauty.
