Where else do you go for vacation?

Friends of mine only go to WDW for vacation... to be fair, this year they are mixing it up by adding a trip to Disneyland. It's their money and time off and I enjoy reliving my trips with them, but where else do you go for vacation?

We go to FL for a week in February every year, but we don't just do WDW. We really love exploring all of the area, not just the tourist things, and someday we'll retire there.
We also enjoy Chincoteague/Assateague in the spring before mosquito season, Maine, NH, and VT in the summer, and the southwest any time!

We go camping up by Saratoga Springs New York every year with 30-75 of our relatives, depending on who's able to come on any given year. It's great seeing my kids hanging out with my cousin's kids. Otherwise we'd only meet at weddings and funerals.

We also just took our first trip to the Jersey Shore which was a hoot as we stayed at the seediest motel I've ever had the pleasure to pay over $200 for. Our family tends to handle things with humor.

We spend 4-5 days at Disney and then head to Naples too see the in-laws. That area is just beautiful and we love the beach. We used to go to Gatlinburg TN but it has gotten way too crowed and the people or teen's rather are almost out of control so we stopped.
We have also spent time on mini vacations in Chicago, Lake Erie and Boston.
Right now WDW is about it for us, or until Hubby decides he has had enough.

I used to go primitive camping in the Ocala National Forest. We would go the first week of March and it was either freezing or raining or both.
Then we would go the first week of August and we'd get eaten up with chiggers and sun-scorched.

  I am so glad we go to WDW now!

Skiing in Crested Butte CO. early January. Sometimes we will go in the Summer when it gets too hot in Texas. Visit family in Vermont, in early to mid October(autum is unbelieveable)

… and that is why I don’t think the Disney hotels are all that expensive! Every single hotel on the Jersey shore is beat up and overpriced.

My daughter and I have gone to Orlando for the past three years, and I go to trade shows in Las Vegas. We also went to Upstate NY (Lake George) so we could “Go somewhere real this year.”

Sorry super fans.

We have spent two weeks on the east coast (from Ocean City NJ to NYC to DC). We have spent a week on the Texas Gulf Coast, mostly fishing. We do day trips to San Antonio, Corpus Christi, and other Texas Destinations. But for the most part, our vacations are to WDW. We are going for two weeks in October, then starting in 2008 we may make two weeks at Christmas a family tradition since we will have two kids in school.

Yup, have to agree. Let me warn you all away from the Aztec "Resort" in Seaside Heights. Stay away!!! :ROFLOL:

A tip for all the upsate NY fans: "Hats Off to Saratoga" the last week of July is a blast! Bands playing every few blocks from alternative to barbershop.

I visit Texas every April. Thirty miles south of San Antonio they have a strawberry festival in Poteet, "the strawberry capital of Texas". My family lives down there. Next April, I am skipping the festival and going to San Antonio for Fiesta.
