I always wondered where all retired props and scenery goes. I am assuming most of it goes into storage and hopefully not the dumpster.

Got to tour the Event & Decorating Support building this summer and saw tons of old props and signage stored there. Including a massive 25th anniversary banner and large "statues" from Hercules.

Right across from the transportation maintenance building.

To be more precise, its between the Monorail Barn and Disney university...if you go on BING maps and go to Disney U behind MK, you will see the giant Christmas tree in sections sitting outsit the bldg along the road.

That sold on ebay many years ago for quite a sum.
The 2 parts that wern`t cracked....

Some park celebration and key items go to Event Support, some of the other items from shows and attractions end up at Mousesurplus or similar, but mostly retired ride items are for the most part scrapped. Sadly.

it gets stored then sometimes sold depending on the value and or need. this is for anything on disney property: any furnishings, electronic equipment, lost and found items, vehicles, costumes, etc. There is a depot that sells some of this to cast members, if you have $1000 you can buy whole lot lot of disney merch.

I still cant believe they even removed the fountain centerpiece or at least didn't make a nice new granite one. The evils of leave a legacy.

Most of the stuff was tossed until this decade came around.

I've been to the long term storage warehouse in Kissimmee and it doesn't have too many things of WDW significance.

If you ever wondered where the knight from the AK river went to, he is now mounted to a storage shelf in the warehouse.

The Comedy Warehouse had a bunch of old props too. Some have also been scattered in the prop warehouse on the Backlot Tour.

Some props, scenery and ride vehicles end up in WDI either hanging from the ceiling above the cubicles or on the walls and shelves in their offices.
