Where do you start?

It depends on EMH, but I prefer to start with Epcot if possible and a ride on Soarin'. Makes me feel like I'm truly at WDW. We usually fly home early evening and save AK for the last day because (for us) we can do everything we want there by mid-afternoon.

What park do you start your vacation off with?? Do you go in any specific order each time? For some reason, we try to save MK for the last day because we want that to be our lasting memory of the vacation. But do you have to hit MK first? Is it a must? What's your plan?

we just plan on which park we want to go to. usually we spend a weekend so we don't have time for more than maybe two parks. usually it's Magic Kingdom but we have no preference, Disney is Disney no matter where you go.

MK: Adventureland first then move clockwise
Epcot: not really but usually we go do counterclockwise from Canada and then do everything in Future World when we finish Mexico
MGM: sort of, we head for Animation Courtyard somedays, then go into Pixar Place, Streets of America, Echo Lake and then Sunset Blvd.
Animal Kingdom: no. we go where we want to go. i mean usually it's Asia, first but again no ordered preference.

no we don't have to, this next trip we're going it's actually last. however, personally i like ending with MGM for Fantasmic being my last memory of that trip.

most of the time, yes MK is a must.

this next trip, i'm volunteering at my friends' (they're all in high school still) state journalism convention. i don't need to be helping out though for like one or two days so i'll be using one of those days to go to Epcot and possibly MGM. the last day they have there we're all going to Magic Kingdom, which is the first time we're all seeing New Fantasyland and one of our plans is to have lunch in the BOG restaurant.

Tradition dictates that the first ride of the trip in MK is Pirates and that the last ride of the trip in MK is Pirates.

Usually, but not always, the first and last parks visited is MK thus making Pirates the first and last rides of the trip. However on the last trip, we finished in EPCOT and thus 3 Caballeros became the final ride of the trip (excluding the bus back to the resort and the DME of course!)

We have the philosophy that we like to wade into the pool, rather than jump right in, so in keeping with that, we don't do a park the first day. I like to arrive at our Disney hotel around 9 or 10 AM, then go to Downtown Disney, then go into Kissimmee that evening and just spend the day doing relaxing things, then hit the parks the next day. Seems like most of the time, Epcot is our first park, and I tend to end the trip with the Magic Kingdom.

We don't go very often, so once we save up our trip is 5-7 days. We always start with the MK, otherwise we wouldn't feel like we were really at WDW. From there, we typically go in chronological order (EP, HS, AK) and wrap up the trip with the MK again, for the lasting memories like you said.

I start with whichever park has EMH for that first day. Our trips tend to be 7 days. I always schedule the order by morning EMH and then add an extra DHS morning and an extra MK morning. On those 2 days we schedule Boma and Chef Mickey's for breakfast. As a result, it winds up as 2 mornings for MK, DHS and AK and 1 Epcot morning. We tend to spend more evenings in Epcot so that makes up for the lack of morning time.

We don't really have a park we start off first with. But usually it's Magic Kingdom or Epcot. If it's Magic Kingdom, we hang a left at the castle and go around the park that way. If it's Epcot, it's Space Ship Earth first and then over to Test Track. Then the rest of Future World and then to the World Showcase.
