Can someone tell me where WCW Monday Night Nitro used to tape when they were in MGM. I have always wondered that

I think they used a soundstage, and for some reason I seem to remember it also being taped outdoors, but what is now Sounds Dangerous.

I'm not a wrestling fan so I could have the wrong event, but about 8 years or so ago they taped wrestling in front of the ticket booths at MGM. The set up was very big and made exiting at closing a nightmare! I'd say it was right about where the bag checks are now. So it wasn't actually in the park but just outside it.

That was the highlight of one trip for me. Being about 8 years old at the time and a huge wrestling fan (still am >_>) it was awesome to be a few dozen yards from the ring.

Yep I remember back when it was in front of the ticket booths. Way back when wrestling was actually good. I haven't watched ever since the WWF (I'll never call it WWE) split up Raw and Smackdown. And it all started moving downhill when WCW folded and there was no competition for the WWF. I can remember spending every Monday night flipping back between Raw and Nitro. Back when DX ruled the earth ;) and the nWo was in full effect. And, of course, there is nothing quite like late 80's wrestling of my childhood. Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Macho Man Randy Savage, Psycho Sid, Sting, etc. Those were the days..........

Wow I just spent a whole post on a Disney World message board reminiscing about old school wrestling.

no!!! oh my god you're so right!!!!!

Like seriously, all of a sudden I just started reminiscing with my buddies about wrestling... I'm 20 now, haven't watched the show in about 6 or 7 years!!!! BUT I USED TO BE SUCHA DIEHARD!!! I remember I was at a summer camp once, (basketball camp at a college, stayed in the dorms) and I didnt bring a tv, but some kid down the hall did, and he was making kids pay 5 bucks to watch Raw... and we willingly paid 5 bucks just to watch a monday night raw!!! that musta been a good 9 years ago!!! Ohhhh man, if my parents didnt let me get the PPVs I would have the channel on the PPV all scrambled (also brings back the memories of scrambled ... hahahahahahahahahaha, what guy here can tell me they didn't watch Spice all scrambled and try to make out what was happening, hahaha)

but i watched an entire PPV event scrambled because I was so obsessed.

I hate it now, its just pathetic and toooooo dramatic and the acting is awful. But man, in the days of DX and when Stone Cold was in his prime... hating vince and him and Undertaker's battles... THE BURIED ALIVE MATCH!!!! WHEN STONE COLD DROVE A BUDWEISER TRUCK INTO THE ARENA!!!!!! WHEN HE CAME IN DRIVING A ZAMBONI!!!!!! oh my god, Stone Cold was a god... seriously, its too bad he had suffered a real-life injury shortening his career... the man was so exciting to watch. I seriously wish I had like every Raw from 1996 to 1999 on tape, I'd watch a lot of them... or at least all the Stone Cold/DX/Undertaker/Kane/The Rock/Vince stuff...

Remeber when Stone Cold fought Bret Hart at Wrestlemania and Mike Tyson was the special guest referee?!?!?!?!

Remember when DX dressed up as The Nation of Domination???? OHHH MY GOD!!!!!

I took a 5 minute break from this post as I just went on ebay and I purchased a Stone Cold shirt and a DX shirt, hahahahahahahahahhahahahaha

I hated WCW though, I LOVED WWF... when all it was was Raw and Sunday Night Heat (which was rarely ever good)...

They use to do Nitro in the Entrance area by the Lagoon. They would set up the lights on top of the ticket booths. I use to work for a wrestler (still seen at times on WWE) when I was younger and I would visit him from time to time whenever I am down there on vacation (still do to this day). In the sound stages they would do the WCW Saturday show. I use to be on that show when I would be there, they use to just give me a staff shirt or put me on the floor so I can interact with the match (letting the wrestlers get in my face and I would yell back).

That was the extent of the WCW/MGM deal

Mike Tyson was the guest referee for Shawn Michaels vs. Stone Cold. Bret Hart was not in WWE during that.

I was at that Wrestlemania

Undertaker came down with all the druids...it was incredible.

Not really a fan anymore...but man what fun times.

I was also at the RAW where Mick Foley won the championship for the first time.

When Tyson joined DX on a Raw a couple of weeks before Wrestlemania, I went NUTS. Of course, I also knew that Stone Cold was going to beat Shawn, but it was fun while it lasted. But the next night (after that Wrestlemania) on Raw was when the new DX was formed with HHH, Chyna, X-Pac, Road Dog Jesse James, and B.A. Billy Gunn.

Actually the last VHS tape I ever bought was the WWF Degeneration X tape. It's got some classic stuff like the DX Presidental Speech talking about the various curse words they would not say during the hours of 10 and 11 pm.

I remeber back in HS (not all that long ago.. 5-6 years?) and also flipping the channels back and forth on Monday nights watching it with my friend and his brothers. Ah. Good times. Goldberg was always my favorite at that time.
