Where Did Disneys MAgic Shop go?

I assume you are talking about the one on Main Street USA.

Well it was closed a while back. When I saw this, I was shocked.

Not long after, it was rumored, and even a sign was put up that there was going to be a David Copperfield Magic Store to open in Downtown Disney.

But it never happened.

If I am thinking clearly, there are supposed to open a Magic store very soon, in Downtown Disney, but not affiliated with David Copperfield.

Hope this helps!;)

i have heard that the magic shop in DD is now open and doing quite well. it's small, but they have live demonstrations all day.

i do miss the house of magic on main st. though:( . it was always my first and last stop in the park.

We walked by a magic store in Downtown Disney on 9/2. I liked it better in the MK!!!

According to wdwmagic, the magic store is part of the chain from Magic Masters and the one at DD is the largest store in the chain. I haven't seen it yet. So is it a large or small magic shop?

I didn't go in (fortunately, my husband didn't notice it, or we would have been there for hours!) but it appeared much (about 2-3x) larger than the old one in MK.

i'm glad to hear that it's bigger. i read about it on another board and several people were complaining about how small it was. i remember when they had the signs up for the david coppefield shop in DD, and it looked like it was going to be pretty big. i can't wait to stop in next month!

Yes, the one in the MK when the way of JII, I'm afraid. Or, to put it on simpler terms, it was replaced by something that I think Su#ks.. They turned it along with the penny arcade into the Sports store. It's been that way now for a good number of years. I was really sorry to see it go because like the arcade it was an attraction as much as a retail location but apparently Disney viewed it, like the Arcade and Movie theatre, as dead space. There really is no comparison between it and the one in DTD. It was a main street U.S.A. shop and it was a disney classic. The other, while nice is a third party store that does stock magic... but not the Disney kind we all go to WDW for :(

The new magic shop in Downtown Disney is actually quite small, but its still cool. They do demonstrations all day and whatnot. Of course, it may only appear to be small, because unless you buy something you aren't allowed past the entry room. If you purcahse something, they take you back, thru the bookcase into another room where they teach you how to do the trick and such. It's a neat store.
