When's Good Time...?

So, my BF and I are tossing around the idea of *eventually* going to WDW around the holidays so we can see the parks all decked out for Christmas. Here's what I'm wondering:

I know the parks get MAD crazy around that time, so we were wondering when the best time to go and experience that without gi-normous lines and huge crowds.

Anybody know if that's even possible? Or are we just dreaming?

I found the best time was right after Thanksgiving, the Monday after the Thanksgiving weekend has been great for us. Either the week starting Monday November 29th or the week starting Monday December 6th. Everything is docorated for the holidays but the crowds are low during the week. The parks do fill up on the weekends however.

I've gone twice during the first full week in December and it was fantastic. Great weather and low crowds. Just beware of the first Saturday in December because that's when they tape the Christmas Day parade and the MK is a mess IMO.

Thanks so much for all the help!

We probably won't be going during the holidays for a few years, however, if we can go when the decorations are up and the crowds are low, I'd be willing to fly on a Sun and leave on a Sat, just to avoid the huge crowds...

Thanks again guys! You're so helpful!

Week before thanksgiving is pretty slow too.
We went the week before Thanksgiving last year and crowds were very light. Everything was completely decorated and even the Osborne Lights were running nightly. We have also gone for Thanksgiving and stayed for a few days after and the crowds still weren't as light as they were the week prior to Thanksgiving. It is a great time to go as the weather is usually beautiful as well.

I was wondering the same thing for 2010. I decided to go the second weekend of December. I was going to go the week before Thanksgiving, but Holidays around the world at Epcot doesn't start til after Thanksgiving. I wanted to see that and the Candlelight Processional.

I try to find out when Pop Warner is there, and go just as they are leaving, which is about the 2nd week of December, give or take.
