Yes, these kinds of threads are so much fun. There are so many "what is the worst" and so many drinking alcoholic beverage threads that these are a nice break.I <3 Happy-non-griping threads

Not being the romantic that you folks seem to be, with me, we always started the drive with a stop at McDonalds for breakfast. Didn't think much about it for the first trip because we just stopped because we were hungry, but that trip ended up being the absolute best family trip we ever took. It seemed like a good luck charm, so every subsequent driving trip starts with MickeyD's both directions. Not an issue after launch, just at launch that this is important. What the heck, we all have our little unexplainable things, don't we?We drive and a tradition we started so many years ago I don't remember exactly when it was, we get everything packed, get in the car, set the trip meter and have a "here we go kiss," and start down the driveway. The vacation starts with the kiss, and it ends in the carport on the way home with another kiss to welcome us back home. Sappy I guess, but it is our routine to begin and end the trip.

THAT'S IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!We drive so for us it's sort of two things... the first moment is when we officially pull away from the house. The second moment is when we pull under the WDW gate and are officially on property. In between there are some landmarks for us that give us the same "it's real" feeling too!
Bojangles, love me a Bojangles cajun filet chicken biscuit. Now you have got me thinking about the obligatory 1st stop at Bojangles.
Seeing palm trees when we are landing in Orlando. Love palm trees! I could really use one now...
