When will we see Disney's next thrill attraction?

So wait you think disney should only build boring rides and not thrill rides? I mean what should they build another "Its a Small World"?

People pay thousands of dollars for a disney vacation and to come to the parks and be bored by rides like GMR is not good. It is sad that there is only maybe 4 thrill rides at Disney. Imagine how much more money Disney would make and then invest into WDW if they had more thrill rides. More thrill rides=less people visiting Universal=more money to invest into WDW.

I can go on thrill rides at my local Six Flags. Fact is I go to WDW at least one week a year, and go to Great America maybe once every couple of years. Thrill rides do nothing for me, and would be the kind of rides that I consider "boring."

20...never!!!!!

TDO is cheap and the company doesn't care about WDW anymore it is basically a waste land at this point. Imagination pavilion has no sponsor, so it will be another wonders of life! So all you will see are a few cheap shows, more selling of land, third party vendors and the fantasy land expansion. people need to get a friggin clue and stop holding on to false hope!! Nothing spectacular is going to come from WDW for at least 30 plus years if were lucky! :fork:

everyone stop playing to disneydevil1. he is only arguing his opinion and just trolling. Just because you find GMR to be boring does not mean everyone else on the planet thinks the same way you do. What someone else thinks is thrilling may not be to someone else.

Yep. Your right. Close down Tower of Terror, Rockn'Rollercoaster, Everest, Dinosaur, Mission Space, and Soarin because thrill rides are bad....we need 100 GMRs and 100 Its a Small World

Either you misread my initial post or you are intentionally trying to pick a fight. Either way I'm not going to feed your ignorance any further.

I'm extremely skeptical that you happen to know exactly how guests feel when they come off of those rides. Isn't it a bit presumptuous to make accusations like "it's a small world and the Great Movie Ride bore everyone and should be taken out of the parks because they're boring" when you haven't seen guest satisfaction polls or interviewed families as they come off the rides? If you want thrill rides, go to Six Flags or Universal. Maybe when you have a family you'll understand the need to have rides for everyone, not just yourself.

Lets not bash the newbies just yet, lets give them a chance to prove their ignorance first. As far as thrill rides, while there are not many fast paced heart exhilarating rides, there are many attractions that involve the mind and get you involved, which a six flags cannot. This is where JC, POTC, IASW, and many others come into play. LWTL is a great example of a simple attraction that makes many people think, wow, can i do that at my house? Thats the power of disney!!

I agree with googilycub. I can get "thrill-only" rides anywhere. I go to Disney to get the entire experience, the theatrics, the mood, the artistry. Those points are more important to me than an attraction's ability to get my adrenaline pumping. And it's not just the attractions that attribute to this for me - the grounds, the architecture of the shops, the characters all add to it.

In fact... I'm going to add that if Disney added significantly more "adrenaline-pumping" rides that would just attract more teenagers... and I've always thought teenagers should be banned from WDW (unless they're there with their family). :D

Seems the OP missed the whole point of DL and thus WDW. Walt wanted somewhere he could take his daughters and be entertained with them.

DL and WDW were NEVER about the latest, greatest coaster. Hopefully never will be!

Do you guys think that kids are not interested in thrill rides? I mean come on. The classics like Jungle Cruise, Pirates, Its a Small World all have their place as historic rides. But there is nothing wrong with rides like Tower of Terror or Rock n Rollercoaster. I mean look at Universal.....they have sucked it up for the longest time then they come out with Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey which is a homerun. I love Disney, but when was the last time Disney had a ride like that? Disney is more concerned about revamping Fantasyland then coming up with something inventive and unique like that. Look at DL, they could of did something unique with Carsland but one of the attractions is just a repaint of Test Track with Cars characters.

Please do not be so dense to think that only teens love thrill rides. Plenty of kids and Adults love thrill rides.

I'm all for thrill rides at WDW just as long as they are in the same boat as ToT and E:E(the 2006 version). Years ago I would have said that "disney needs more thrills." But now, I agree with what someone said elsewhere in this thread, whats thrilling to one person may not be for the next person. Granted, someone's version of a thrill may be riding Spaceship Earth to hear the woman narrate and see themselves on the screen. I think rides that totally immerse the viewer in the experience such as HM, Pirates, GMR, are thrilling in the sense that they are unique as a Disney experience. If you want record breaking speed roller coasters then WDW is not for you, go to six flags, busch gardens, any amusement park in the country for that. WDW can make thrilling roller coasters like E:E and Rockin, but it's not something they "need" imo.

We throw the term thrill around a lot but forget what is thrilling for one is not thrilling to another. I think Disney has moved too far away from immersive dark ride type of attractions that stimulate the mind and imagination. Too much focus on stimulating the glands that produce adrenaline.

What he said.
