When will the new Fantasyland Re-Open?

Hi all... was discussing with my wife the other day about our next trip down. She mentioned fall 2011, but i got to thinking... i don't think the new FL will be open yet, and it would be great to time it out since we only get down to Disney World maybe 1 time every 3-4 years. Sounds like fall 2011 will be the heart of construction. So, if you can all help me out with the following, that would be helpful for my planning...

Have they given an estimated completion date for the new FL to be finished?

What types of closures (i already know ToonTown will be gone by then) could we expect if we were to go before the new FL opened? In other words, will the old FL be operational during construction?

Everything except for Pixie Hollow should open sometime in 2012, not sure of the exact date. Pixie Hollow will open in 2013.

And yes, the old Fantasyland will be completely operational (except for Dumbo, naturally). The only thing that will be gone is, as you stated, Toontown.

Unless we just cant stand it, our trip this June will be the last until after all of the new FL rebuild is done.

Fall 2012 everything except Pixie Hollow will be done. Pixie Hollow should open up sometime in 2013.

Fall 2011 is fair-game for the 40th Anniversary celebration so go for it! I think it's rumored to start October 1, 2011. :king:

That's our dilemna! Do we go in Fall 2011 even though it won't be done? I mean, we just went in October. I'm thinking based on the first response i got, that in 2012 it will be open (exception Pixie Hollow), so maybe i'll plan for Fall of 2012

Shouldn't Star Tours be completed by Fall 2011? You'll have that.

Fantasyland Expansion

We are planning on going for May 2012 from the Uk, in my experience of going to Florida when they are inproving/changing the parks etc.. they tend to try and open for the busy season starting may onwards, so hopefully they will have a least soft openings in May time 2012.... Here's hoping anyway......

Can't wait for the new expansion of Fantasyland... sounds it's going to be great...:wave:

We're having to wait until the FLE is complete for our next trip as well. We just can't afford to go back until 2013 or later so it'll be cool to have the fully (hopefully) complete Fantasyland to return to!

My wife and I are planning for oct. 2012, hoping most of the new FL will be open.

My wife and I, and our little one who will be nearing 2, are also planning for September/October 2012. It's a long time for us to wait, but the blessing of our first child definitely makes up for not going to Disney for a few years!

I certainly can't wait to see the newly developed Fantasyland when we do return.
