When will star tours preview?

It's a tight timeline to get it done for May 20, so previews could be very limited. There has been no official word, nor any solid speculation. So really at this time it's unknown.

I heard cast member previews were happening in California around May 16. So, they might be on the same timeline for Florida.

WDW is having its grand opening sooner than the DL one, but WDW's original also closed later than DL's. Seems like nobody knows what this means for the timeframe.

Works on the 2 'Tours can`t be compared.

Yeah, the construction dates are quite different between the two properties.

Disneyland Star Tours
Closed July 27th, 2010
Officially Opens June 3rd, 2011

WDW Star Tours
Closed September 8th, 2010
Officially Opens May 20th, 2011

The Disneyland construction dates have 7 additional weeks of closure padded in there, and the WDW closure would seem to be a much tighter construction schedule. And yet the WDW version of the ride has six Starspeeders to replace and work on, while the smaller Disneyland version has just four Starspeeders and a smaller queue area, so you would think it would be the opposite and WDW would have needed the 7 extra weeks of work.

Disneyland is ahead of schedule. CM previews should begin mid May, with soft AP trips possibly when WDWs is set to open. It appears Anahiem made up for lost time.

At one point, WDW was only going to have 5 of the bays done by May 20th. The remaining bay would take an additional month or so. I'm not certain what the current status is however.

Is it me, or are you trying to get us to read something between the lines?

Although I can't figure out what it might be, so maybe I'm just too sensitive to some secret surprise we'll find on the new Star Tours next month?

Annual Passholder previews of Star Tours have now been officially announced for Disneyland, from May 23rd through June 1st. The ride opens officially at Disneyland on June 3rd, with a rumored media event on June 2nd.

I imagine they'll be announcing the Annual Passholder dates for the WDW version this week as well.

I've posted this before on another thread, but I'm pretty sure the reason for the shorter time line with WDW is because all of the testing and a lot of the internal construction was done on the old Body Wars simulators. The only thing that had to be done in Star Tours itself and DHS was the construction. DL did not have this luxury and took the extra time. PLUS the ride HAD to be open for Star Wars Weekends which start 3rd week of May.

I'll be in WDW from May 27 to June 3. Star Tours will be up and running but will also be packed because of Star Wars Weekends. Still, im looking forward to it.
