We are going to Disney the beginning of May. When should I be purchasing my airfare? Now? Or should I wait?

My strategy is to purchase as soon as it becomes available (on Southwest). That way I get the flights I want. Then if the prices get cheaper, Southwest allows you to rebook the flight and issues you a credit for the difference that you have to use within the year. We travel so much that we always use it.

I do the same. I don't want to risk being shut out of the flight I want - but other airlines charge to change flights or aren't as accommodating with price adjustments. I guess it depends on your airline. Do you know what a typical flight costs and the price it is now? That may help you decide.

It's about $249 round trip right now through Southwest. It's good to know they will allow you rebook the price at the cheaper rate if it changes.

I always book as soon I have my room reservations made. I have found out that the earlier the better. I'm already looking at the airlines for December 2011 flights. As soon as I get the room booked I'll book the flight. Get it out of the way and sit back and just relax. (Of course I do take out the insurance in the event something untoward happens.)

I always book as soon as possible. Prices these days don't go down anymore the closer you get to a flight -- in fact, all you find is that the prices go up and they run out of seats.

Don't wait to book. Always book as soon as possible. Airlines normally let you book 11 months in advance. I booked my December flight for next season yesterday, as soon as the dates became available on Continental.
