When to Go

I'm thinking of going to Disney World next year, but I'm unsure of when to go. Last time I went was in Febuary of 2011, and I'm thinking of going there during that time again. But I'm also thinking of August, except it's really hot during August. Please tell me what time of year I should go!

I think the february mark is the best time of year to visit, but it is just a tad too chilly to swim imo. So if that's not a big deal to you and the family, then that's definetely a great time to go. The kids are back in school from xmas break so parents are reluctant to take them out of school so soon.

Also I went in September once and really enjoyed it, crowds were not bad at all.

We're going in Sept of this year and I've heard GREAT things about the crowds at this time, PLUS the hours aren't shortened much and everything runs like normal! :D

When I was a kid my parents always took us in February. It was a bit colder, no swimming, but cheaper. Just stay clear of presidents day weekend.

September and january are the 2 months that the parks are empty. Kids are back in school thats why. Also beggining of December is usually empty also. People start trickling in around the 14th.

If you are deciding between August & February, than I personally would pick February. I prefer cooler temps & shorter lines. Plus August is peak and more expensive. If you are open to other dates, I love going in October. The BEAUTIFUL & Festive fall decorations are out and the crowd levels are usually ideal. Hallowishes & Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party:) are going on. In addition, it shouldn't be too cold to swim.

I've been around all times of the year, and the end of september, beginning of october was my favorite, crowds aren't too bad, parents are also reluctant to take their kids out of school around that time as well, plus F & W festival, and HHN at universal!
