When Theme Parks Collide: A Combination Disney and Universal Theme Park Resort

Didn't you say there would be a whole Dreamworks land in Islands Of Adventure, or did I mis-read something. After all there are separate lands for Madagascar and Far Far Away at Universal Studios Singapore. If it was a large land then separate mini areas for Shrek, Madagascar, How To Train Your Dragon and Wallace and Gromit or something like that probably wouldn't be too hard. The only problem is you're park is already amazing and it would be stupid to overload it and make it unrealistic or to remove anything.

I don't know how many rides are dedicated to Pixar in your resort (is it just Pixar place?) but I think if it is a Disney-Universal resort, Dreamworks should be just as represented. They are pretty much as popular as Pixar even if they lack the same charm.

That was designed as a Seuss Landing replacement, but Seuss proves to be popular. So, I went with a singular Dreamworks attraction. That, however, can still be changed. I should put it to a vote: whether or not replace Seuss with Dreamworks. That would remove the Dreamworks ADventure attraction, clearing up the whole Animation Studios area a little bit, I suppose.

I see your point. Also, keep in mind that there's two Disney parks coming your way: Thrill Kingdom and MAgic Kingdom. Then there's Jurassic Park, but that's Universal...

That sounds like a good parade. It should run in Disney's Hollywood Studios and Universal Studios Orlando during Summer Nightastic! I can desgin some floats if you want me to. I am a great artist. Just look at my "Frog Art" album.

Putting it in those parks wouldn't work. That's mixing characters from different companies in opposing resorts....

But if you want to design floats for the parade that is located (and only located) in Disney/Universal Studios, be my guest!

Let us be finished with Islands of Adventure with:

SCI FI CITY

Transformers: Megatron's Revenge: Join the Autobots as they attempt to defend earth from the evil Decepticons in this Spiderman Style attraction. Thrill Rating: ***

Battlestar Galactica Battle Towers: Choose your side, Cylon or Human, as you go head-to-head in an all out space race in this dueling drop tower attraction. An interactive element is used in this attraction: the tower in which most people press the button (when it flashes) first wins. There is three separate launches, and each drop involves people pressing the button again to go higher. Thrill Rating: ***

Star Trek Coaster: The Starfleet Spacestation is under attack by the evil Klingons! Proceed to the multi-passenger escape pod. (It's a launched lay-down coaster.) Thrill Rating: ***

Accelator: Climb in one of the many Accelator pods and help generate power for Sci Fi City! Thrill Rating: **

I've finally made a decision on the location for this resort.

DRUMROLL PLEASE

The location for this combination Disney and Universal Theme Park Mega-Resort is:

Dubailand.

Why Dubailand? First off, Universal is already planning to build a park there (it's basically been scrapped, though) and there is to be a Marvel Heroes park. Also, in time, Dubailand will most likely be one of the tourism capitals of the world.

Anyway, any further comments are appreciated!

^First of all, YES to Dubai. Second, the battle towers seem really fun! And third, in the Star Trek ride, will you be "beamed up" prior to the attack?

1) It really is a great location, isn't it?

2) Yeah, I tried to make it more interactive than your average drop ride.

3) Why not? :D

To me, this sounded like a resort for Brazil; there are little to no theme parks there.

Do you really think that the people of the United Arab Emirates can relate to Abraham Lincoln?

Not neccesarily, but they can relate to Walt Disney. And Great Moments was one of his favorite attractions.

And hey, if they can put it in Tokyo, they can put it in Dubailand. IMHO, the final product of Dubailand will be heavily influenced by American culture.

ADVENTURELAND
My Adventureland is kinda based off WDW's, but more generic: First is South America, then Pacific Islands, then African Jungles, then finally, a Caribbean port. So, I always kinda thought that Adventureland was never given the star billing.... Tomorrowland has it's Space Mountain, Fantasyland has the Princesses, Frontierland with Splash Mountain/Thunder mountain. And what did Adventureland have? Nothing to boot but a ride about pirates. So, in Magic Kingdom Dubailand, Adventureland will be the largest and most heavily themed area of the park. :)
