When should I book my trip?

Hey everyone! I usually lurk around and rarely post. I am thinking about going to Disney World in the middle of August. I am not sure if they usually have promotions running then or not. I am wondering if I should book now or wait until closer to time in case they have a promotion. Thanks!

I would book now to guarantee that you get the room/resort that you want and then just keep an eye out for any deals that may be released for the time that you're there and then give Disney a call and have them apply it to your reservation.

Also if you book it now, you'll be able to book your ADRs at the 180 day mark and not be trying to book your dining when you book your reservations if you wait to book a deal (i.e. free dining) along with everyone else who's just booked the deal and now wants to book their dining as well.

I agree. You want to get your ADR's together as soon as possible.

Exactly! That's what we did. Book now and apply a promo later iof one is available.

My upcoming trip that's in just over two weeks was booked a year ago, then I got a pin code which I applied to it, then I switched the pin code to the free dining. Very easy to apply discounts to an already booked trip.

This is what I do as well.

We book as soon as we decide for sure we are going. Last year's trip was a year out, and this one was 5 months. Like others have said, it's easier to make dining plans. And, it gives me that much more time to pay for everything. I send a payment in every month, and when the 45-day mark hits, there's usually not a lot left to pay.
