I make a low calorie Shepard's Pie or Cottage Pie at home. Brown ground turkey add chopped onions and a little olive oil and saute, add chopped carrots and saute a little longer, add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce and a little red wine as well as some fresh or dried herbs. Let simmer until most of the sauce has thickened, can add a little flour. Add frozen peas. Boil a mix of yellow potatoes and cauliflower and complete like you would mash potatoes. Transfer the meat mix to a deep casserole dish, put the potatoes in a plastic bag after they have cooled a bit and cut the tip off of a corner of the bag. Pipe the potatoes over the top of the meat mixture to cover the entire surface making a "crust" and then bake until the potatoes start to brown a bit. It's pretty good and the kids eat it up.
