Glad to see I'm not alone 
Not get rid of them but move them from the entrance. Maybe build a tomb I mean display building devoted to them.

They just clutter up the front of SSE. It reminds me of those places where you can go look for a tombstone. I'm trying to find a pic of before using google images and having no luck lol

I always thought they looked like creepy memorial tombstones as well...didn't seem to fit in with the theming and landscaping of the area.
But that's just me.
My thought....remove all the tiles and afix them to the wall (inside or outside) of a nearby building instead.
Then they can destroy the monoliths, and put in something pretty. (or prettier, anyway)
That way, the legacy tiles are still around for folks who want to see them, but not "in your face".

Next time I'm in Epcot, I'm going to take pics of the tiles some people here still "like" *shudder*
Some of them are so faded and weathered you can't recognize anyone, and I've known a few people who got the tile, but can't even find it.
The idea itself wasn't a bad one, the execution was the very bad part.

I understand why folks may not like them. My tile looks right at SSE. When I'm not at WDW, I know I'm gazing at SSE. Helps when I'm at work.

All I can say is if all the flowerbeds were still there I would imagine the Flower Garden festival entrance display would be amazing.
