i went on pirates not too long ago with a few friends and this guy that was on our boat was very obviously a huge fan of the ride - kept reciting the lines loudly, singing along loudly, etc. because you know, flaunting his knowledge. he'd also, every thirty seconds or so, wave to the ceiling and yell "YO GEORGE!" it got extremely annoying and disrespectful but not too long after he started with that we got to the auction scene and the auctioneer turned to face our boat, pointed at him, and yelled "YOU THERE IN THE BOAT! SHUT UP!" he was pretty quiet after that, it was great

On Soaring, first time, and a guy near us would yell the next scene and what to smell for about 5 seconds before it came up.

"Here comes the river and evergreens, you're going to smell the pine... orange groves are next...and finally hidden Mickey in the fireworks!"

Ugh, took the surprise/excitement factor of "what's next" out of it.

Save the neck for me
Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead? :D
So, when did you get the tenement on wheels?

I'll stop now, as this is a Disney thread. Love that movie though, but I never have nor ever will speak loudly during an attraction out of respect to other guests, as has already been shared a lot here. I love hearing the spiels and narrations like everyone else, just when a guest does it, some of the magic is lost.

I have no problem telling them to shut the #*&% up! My patience for others antics over the years has diminished and I just flat out inform the persons or party (this includes talking to a parent to correct their child's bad behavior) to knock it off if that doesn't work I get a CM.

Edit: I have found that the behavior stops sometimes with an apology or my favorite where they walk away quickly due to me embarrassing them in front of people by pointing out their fault. Why is it so hard to just think before acting and have some consideration for the other guests around you.

I have to say that I can tell way before I get on a ride, see a favorite show, or just sit down to ppl watch that the parents, kids, etc are going to me off...so I just try to find my "little" spot and enjoy the show...when I hear the kids screaming, teens acting like "it's all about them", and parent that decided to leave the parenting skills at the front gate then it's OK for me to call the CM, tell them to take care of their kids, I do it in Spanish and English so there is no mistake...Hate to say it but sometimes that NY attitude works wonders...it's a shame. I've seen parents let their kids (under 13) walk-off to "shop", use the bathrms without supervison, or just walk around while they are sitting enjoying a drink or talking on their cell phone. Bad ppl are all over Disney parks...it only takes a few minutes to "snatch" these kids. By the time they realize their kid is "lost" the child is already out of the park....sad.

I think you're being more than a little paranoid. There are not "bad ppl all over Disney parks", any more than there are bad people infesting every corner of our daily life. Sure, there are some bad folks out there. But to say that they're everywhere is just not true.

50s prime time: Party of 20: Kids sat alone feet away from parents (right next to my mom and I) their dining plan didn't exist, tried to order with 3 different waitresses, played footsie under table, put 5yr old in charge. In the end, two parents had to move to sit with the 8 kids (FOLLOWING MULTIPLE REQUESTS FROM MANAGER). When we left we told the waitress not to sit anyone in our spot until the party left. they felt so bad that they gave us a fastpass.

On our most recent trip last April, we were having lunch at The Land when I went up to a cashier to pay for our food. This dumb hillbilly girl comes up while I'm in the middle of talking to the cashier about our trip and starts swearing at her that she wants an immediate refund for her food because she didn't enjoy her creme brulee. Of course, her bowl was empty so she enjoyed it enough to eat it all. I nicely told the young lady to please not swear around my children, and asked her to basically shut up before I would call security over and have her escorted from the park(of course I was not going to interrupt our lunch). She looked at me with a blank stare and I said "Have a Magical Day".

The cashier later came up to our table and said Thank You and gave the kids some free cupcakes.

The first time we went on Soarin' the woman next to me asked if I'd ever been on the ride before. No, first time.
Wait 'til you see the golf ball! Uh, thanks? Didn't have to be a genius to figure out what to expect. I just wondered Why you'd give a spoiler to a perfect stranger.

I work with a couple of people like this. They love spoiling movies or tv shows. I don't know if they are completely moronic or if they secretly get a rise out of it. Or both? But I hate it and avoid them like the plague.

I don't think they think of it as spoiling. They're just so excited about something that they just haveta share, not thinking that this sharing is actually spoiling. Sometimes it's just better to shut up. It's taken me 60 years to learn that lesson!

She couldn't have known that I just hate spoilers. Seemed like a nice woman, I know she didn't mean anything bad, and I just smiled, I didn't take her head off or anything. I just thought Why. Your co-workers sound like the type who know you're recording the game and give you the score like they think it's hilarious. I worked with them, too..

The thing that bugged me the most on my last trip was HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE TAKING VIDEOS ON THEIR PHONES OF THE RIDES. Sure maybe take a couple second clip and then put it away so you can share it online later, but please don't have your phone out the full ride on max screen brightness. It was insane how many people were doing it. One ride on pirates there were 3 people doing it in our boat and 4 people in the boat in front of us. Ugh.
