Run the Bridge 10k - Nov 4 - Cool race which crosses the Ben Franklin Bridge over the Delaware from Jersey to Philly and then back again.

The only reason I'm doing the Wild 1/2 is becuase I registered last year and the race was cancelled because of the hurricane, so they honored registration this year. I don't like that it doesn't start until 8:30. I would have thought because of the heat/humidity and the crowds on the Boardwalk, they would want things cleared out earlier.

I've done the Bridge Run the past 6 years and it remains one of my favorite races - definintely the best event in the Philly area.

You guys are much more ambitious than I am...I have our town's 5K race in late October. Other than that just prepping for Goofy in January (unless something else fun comes up). :)

I did the Bridge Run last year for the first time and loved it! I love that I can take the Patco train into Camden and just walk to the start also. I had my best 10k time and almost beat my husband. Maybe this year!

Its my first race ever (just started running for the first time less than 3 weeks ago). Im still not sure how i got talked into it, but it should be fun.

That course is part of my warm up for my daily runs (25-30 miles every morning). Go over to "What did you do?" thread and post. good stuff. Saturday is my day-off, but I'll probably be wandering over there and checking things out.

Good luck! After my first 5k, I was definitely hooked to keep running. It felt so good to cross that finish line. I never thought in my life I could finish a 5k (without walking the whole thing) and now a 5k is my short run!

Makes that Goofy Challenge you threw in there look like a 100 yd dash! :)

Marathon and ultra are SO different: mentality, pacing, nutrition, the people / sub culture. I feel out of place at the WDW marathons, but unlike my ultra races, I can at least get those done in a couple hours! No headlamp, crew or pacers needed! And don't forget about two orders of Tonga Toast post run :D

Dude, every trip, I order two orders of Tonga, and we always stay at Poly, so we go multiple times to Capt Cook and Kona Cafe. It's the only time I eat fried food, and running ultra-distance, I can afford to gobble down two orders...and the rest of my wife's macadamia nut pancakes :D
