Whats your favourite trash can

Its the small attention to detail that separates Disney from the majority of its competition, especially in overall themeing. One such detail is the themeing of trash cans to their surroundings which maintains their functionality while improving their aesthetics.

I just wondered if anyone else shared my enthusiasm for such fine detailing and what refuse receptacle stood out for them.

This is my can of choice

I like the ones in Futureworld that talk when you throw things in them.
Totally caught me by surprise one trip, as we were leaving Epcot.

But I know what you mean...the designs on some of them are really lovely. Especially considering it's for somehting that doesn't have to be lovely.

There's a private joke I have with my Spouse about Waste Piggies.
It's what I swear I thought he said ...when he was reading "Waste Please" out loud from off the garbage cans.

As someone who has taken photos of over 170 trash cans around WDW and DL (see link in my sig below for all of them - but it looks like someone in this thread already used one of my photos ), it's hard for me to pick just one.

If I was forced into picking one, I'd have to say the original Wonders of Life design. It's fun and playful, and I love the color scheme. I might change my mind in a few minutes though, lol!

That is awesome Figment! Who knew there were so many cool designs? and what a nifty artistic statement!

(I think I like the look of the Saratoga Springs ones best)

Yes thanks for the photo my hard drive withall my archive photos is playing up and Ive lost quite a few years of my Disney touring.

I didnt see the one that has a wood effect, I'm sure its from the Campground bus stops or maybe it was the lodge

No problem - I just saw it and thought it looked familiar, but it didn't have a link to the original Flickr page so I wasn't sure at first.

As far as the wood effect one, are you referring to this old one? I know I'm missing a couple from Fort Wilderness (namely the new politically correct version) but I don't recall seeing a current one with a wood grain finish...

It does look like it, very similar effect to that used on the Coke machines.

I haven't stayed at FW since 2004 so I may be confused.

The kids did make comments on the Poly bins, and that and Kidanni are the only resorts I have digital images of .

On the subject of bins, I do have to say that they have acted as a makeshift tripod on many low light occasion, regardless of design.

Great idea for a topic! I personally have always liked the ToT trash cans; nothing flashy or gaudy but still completely themed from top to bottom to subtly continue the theme of the Hollywood Tower Hotel. :)

I've always like the World Showcase plaques though, and the France cans with the bi-lingual message are nice too.

Hey guys - I really don't mind if you keep using photos from my Flickr photostream, but could you please at least be kind enough to link back to my Flickr page?

Flickr guidelines state that "pages on other web sites that display content hosted on flickr.com must provide a link from each photo or video back to its page on Flickr." Thanks! :)

The one you posted I guess was linked to in a blog somewhere, but the Electric Umbrella one is directly from my Photostream. I honestly don't care, I'm flattered people enjoy my images, but usually it's customary to give credit to whoever took the photo originally, and I don't want to get in trouble with Flickr.

I love this topic Pumba! And Figment - I love your photos, what a great idea! I would never have thought to photograph all the various trash cans. It's really interesting that there are so many, I never realized.

My favorites are the Fantasyland trash can, with the Tinkerbell's on it and the green trash cans in Adventureland. And of course I love Push too, although he did run over my toe once. :D

This thread is quite interesting. when saw the original post, the only trash can i can really remember is the one in Tomorrowland that talks to you. Now i will DEF. pay more attention to them this next trip in a few weeks.

One more reason i find this site so much fun!

Thanks!

ALONG THIS LINE:
THERE USED TO BE AN AMUSEMENT PARK BY MY HOUSE THAT HAD A STORYBOOK LAND WITH A HUNGRY PIGGY TRASH CAN. WHEN YOU FED IT, IT WOULD OINK LOUDLY!

I think we should have a thread where WDWMAGIC members try to guess the location based on a trash can picture.

Is it strange that I find that idea very entertaining?
