What's your do-not-miss restaurant?

We try to mix it up as much as possible but our can't-miss restaurant on at least one of our MK days is Columbia Harbour House. I'll let others weigh in on whether it's a good "deal", but it's some of the highest-quality in-park food around, and the dining area upstairs is an incredible respite from the heat and crowds.
We love Columbia Harbour House, too!! That's on our QS list for lunch one day :) And I agree, the upstairs area provides some calm and quiet (relatively speaking) and is a nice place for a break.

Garden Grill in Epcot is our go to favorite! The food is adult and kid friendly (and delicious) the atmosphere is awesome and the characters are classics (Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale) so my boys never fussed about them.

I have two boys 2 and 8. Last time we went our favorites were Ohana, and Tusker House. My DS8 loved SciFi in HS so I would highly recommend that. For Epcot, I would recommend Coral Reef or San Angel Inn for the theming. Skipper Canteen at MK and Wispering Canyan are also fun. I know you said no princesses (sorry!) but I insisted we do CRT last time. I had never been and really wanted to go. So I forced the boys to go and they thought it was great! They got swords and thought it was really cool to go inside the castle. Even though they didn't like the "princess part" lol they want to go back! We went for breakfast but it would be even cooler to go at night or during the fireworks. The food was not that great but the experience is really cool.

Now my issue is I have too many good suggestions and not enough time! :) We have 6 table service meals during our trip. (1 will be out of pocket, others covered by FD). We have decided to do Ohana, Tusker House and Teppan Edo (9 year old's request) for sure. Need 3 more: 1 at HS, 1 at Epcot and one anywhere. I would LOVE to do Le Cellier, but not with kids in tow. We are not big breakfast eaters, so I was thinking of 1900 park fare for dinner. Or maybe Crystal Palace. Any thoughts?

We booked a 11:15 "Breakfast" at 1900 park fare so that we would be sure to meet the mad hatter, but essentially get lunch rather than breakfast. Still breakfast foods, but so much of it you'll have plenty to choose from.

Boma for buffet or Sanaa at AKL...not only is the food terrific at both places with lots of great choices for every taste but then you have the advantage of wandering around AKL ...sit by the firepits, see the animals off the observation decks, storytellers ...just a fun evening that continues after dinner!

Ohana!!! Out of the ones you're considering I would say NOT Tusker House, the food is so terrible and you can have a far nicer (and similarly-themed) buffet at Boma in nearby Animal Kingdom Lodge. We love Teppan Edo (but are from the UK where there is little in the way of this style of dining unless you live in a major city) so if it's familiar to you it may not be so impressive. Sci-Fi, Whispering Canyon and Skippers Canteen are all good choices in my opinion

Some ideas:

Plaza for lunch
Yak & Yeti for lunch/dinner
San Angel Inn for lunch/dinner
Artist Point for dinner
Narcoossee's for dinner
Trail's End for breakfast
'Ohana for breakfast

'Ohana for dinner (usually on our "last night" at Disney), and a lunch at Pecos Bill's (unless or until they take guacamole off the toppings bar, at which point I will refuse to go, in protest!) are traditional must-dos for us. :)

SInce you need a HS option, Sci-Fi is an awesome place and it can be your OOP meal, since it can be cheaper than the rest.
At Epcot, we love Garden Grill, it's all you can eat, family style, ask for a booth and it;s very private and relaxing, but with characters! you don't get a more private character experience anywhere! Otherwise San Angel Inn and Coral Reef are great unique places to dine at.
For the "anywhere" option, if you're boy likes dinosaurs, try T-Rex at Disney Springs, the food is nothing to rave at, but the experience is unique. Boma at AKL is the best buffet ever, but since you're doing Tusker House, they may be some similarities in the style of the food. Whispering Canyon is also very fun place and the AYCE skillet is very good!

We've eaten everywhere on your list except Skipper's Canteen. I personally liked Sci Fi the least for the food but the atmosphere was fun and our kids enjoyed their meal and the atmosphere. Whispering Canyon is a lot of fun if you don't have shy kids. We enjoy the food there and go there fairly often. Teppan Edo is great when you have a diverse group of eaters. When we go with my sister and her family we have to deal with food allergies, a vegetarian, and a meat eater and we're all good there. Tusker House is a decent buffet and you get to see Mickey etc... but no princesses. I think it's a nice way to see characters without standing in multiple long lines and not having to use a fast pass. About the only place we go every single trip is we do a lunch at Les Halles, the quick serve in France. It's my granddaughter's favorite lunch so we go each trip. Our last few trips she's wanted to do Flying Fish on the boardwalk each of our last 4 trips and she doesn't have to twist my arm to get me to agree lol.

I love the Garden Grill Character Dinner with Chip and Dale. Very good food and love the interaction with the characters.
