What's the shelf life for Epcot's 25th Anniversary exhibit?

Because my first visit to Epcot Center took place in the early 80's, when I was just a wee lad, the entire park holds a special place for me. When I was 7, I thought Communicore was really cool. I also miss the old Imagination pavillion and Horizons.

Even though the days of Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy dressed in space-age tin foil with rainbow trim are long gone, I can still visit Epcot now and remember my first trip fondly. In fact, although I think that Future World's current theming is a bit uneven, I don't mind the new attractions.

I was excited to see that last October the park held a 25th Anniversary celebration with an exhibit featuring memorabilia from days gone by. This came just a few weeks shy of my annual September visit.

Perhaps this question has been previously answered on the boards, but I'm wondering if this 25th anniversary exhibit still exists and if so, do you think it will still be around for my annual visit this September (8th - 15th)? Also, where in the park is it located? I'm guessing they plan to keep it around for a full year but wasn't quite sure.

I have heard nothing about the removal of the 25th Anniversary Gallery. It was recently added to Epcot's time guide. It operates from park opening to closure and can be found in Innoventions West adjacent to Character Spot.

As a side note, I see no reason why it shouldn't become permanent. It takes absolutely no one to operate the attraction. As a matter of fact, last time I visited the Gallery, the closest CM was over by Character Spot.

Alas, whilst there is no immiediate plan to use the area, popular concensus is it`ll close at the end of the year. You`ll be okay. Plan to spend an hour or so if you are an old school fan (even a young one!)

As of right now, it is set to remain open through December 31st, 2008. After that time, its space (technically the Communicore Cellar) will be reassessed. If there isn't any other need for the space, then it is possible that the gallery will remain open until a call for the location is brought up. Since the opening up of the Festival Center at the Wonders of Life pavilion, the cellar has not been needed specifically for any events.

I wish the gallery had a better location than it's current one. Since it's a little hidden you don't really know it's there unless you happen upon it or ask about it.

I was there last November and had planned on seeing it, but of course, completely forgot (probably because it wasn't on any maps to remind me!) So I'm glad I'll get another shot at it this October, and SO glad they put it on a times guide - hopefully that will jog my memory for this year so I won't forget it again!!! :p

I was just in there last night...of course its still there, and it's been listed on the back of the times guide for quite a while now. If you haven't had a chance to view the exhibit, I'd say that you should do it as its a once in a lifetime thing, this exhibit is temporary and although no date has been set in stone to remove it, you never know when it'll be gone, and the memorabilia in there is just fantastic... and you'll love it especially if you're a Disney or an Epcot fan.

Unfortunately, it isn't very popular at all, and is located in an odd location. Everytime I've been in there, I was alone. No CM's or other people inside or near the exhibit, it's kind of isolated... the back, back corner of innoventions, somewhat near club cool.

I would love to see an exhibit similar to this in every park. I would also like to see them rotate some of the material a couple of times per year. Have you basic full time stuff on the walls but have a couple of cases in the middle of the room that go incredibly deep into the history of one attraction and rotate said attraction a couple of time or at least once a year. There seems to be a pretty good size Disney history buff market and exhibits like this would be a great way to tap into that market by attaching a small store to the exhibit that specialized in retro merchandise and books on the subject.

I love going into "One Man's Dream" at DHS. I think it is so interesting. Even my kids enjoy seeing the displays in there. The history of Disney is just fascinating!

In Epcot, don`t forget to also look at the timeline on the wall to the right of the exhibit entrance

Because people still sometimes have trouble finding the exhibit, even if they're actively looking for it.....

EpcotGallery.jpg

(This is facing north, Imagination is off to the bottom-left, Spaceship Earth off of the top of the photo, and World Showcase off the bottom of the photo)

The blue square indicates the gallery, and the red arrows are the easiest doors to use. There's also a third door facing the fountain, in between Club Cool and the Fountainview Cafe.

There's also some rarely-used bathrooms next to the Gallery that are nice to know that they're there.
