What's the next World Showcase attraction to get the character treatment?

I suppose it's inevitable that one day almost every attraction will have been replaced or revamped to include Disney characters or a Disney movie tie-in. To be honest, the World Showcase was the last place I expected it to happen.

However, since the precedent has now been set, what will be next? Mickey popping up as a troll? Goofy running on the Great Wall Of China? Pluto as a Canadian Mountie? Stitch hanging off the Eiffel Tower?

Actually, the latest rumor is that as part of the Siemans make over of SSE, the entire outside of the ride will be remade to look like Mike from Monsters, Inc.

It is interesting to note that on Epcot's opening day, spokes people for disney proudly proclaimed that there would be no Disney cartoon characters on display at Epcot ever. (there are opening day videos on youtube where you can hear Disney people saying this) Well, it turns out that that decision was a dismal failure and visitors to Epcot were constantly asking, "Where are the characters?". So, it turns out it is what visitors expected and demanded.

There was a difference though with suitably costumed walk abouts outside, and retheming the attractions with them. Not a critisicm, just an observation. And yes, the public wanted characters in EPCOT Center from early `83.

This is not a very long list of attraction. I say none of them will get anything. Canada has the new film on the way, Norway....ummmmm looks through all his disney books...has nothing they can tie with it. AA yea want to see everyone go nuts try and stick Mickey Mouse in there. France, oh crap I see it now Marie takes you on a tour of France.

Since the lagoon is in WS I would say Illuminations ROE is next. Taking a cue from the boat at the end Fantasmic all of the characters could be placed on the inferno barge.

I do know that there's a Marie costume in one of the parks. I don't know if she's out, but I know the costume is there.

And by the way, they've had characters in France for a long time. Belle, Beast, Quasimodo, Esmerelda, and Clopin, to be specific.

Call me crazy and flame me all you want but I just don't understand why folks have a problem with characters in World Showcase, it doesn't bother me at all. I don't see how it detracts from World Showcase or interferes with ones ability to appreciate the different cultures. Obviously I'm not alone since apparently there was a public outcry for characters strong enough to make Disney listen and go back on their word to keep Epcot character free.

What's the big deal?

I used to be very anti-character EPCOT, mostly because of my love of Figment and how he is the "mascot" of the theme park. After being at the parks, the characters are helping the kids relate to the places around them. The new Seas with Nemo is showing and teaching kids about fish life and the ocean. Even the new Gran Fiesta is telling the kids about Mexico. Kids relate to the characters and that's why they do it.

As far as tie-ins go:

UK- Alice (DL ride), Marry Poppins (Broadway Musical)
Canada- Brother Bear
France- Hunchback (old Studios show)
Morraco- Aladdin (DCA show)
Italy- Pinochio (DL ride)
China- Mulan

Most countries (except for Japan, I belive) already have Disney character meet and greets. They are there. It's just a matter of time, until they get a ride or show of their own.

I would actually not mind a Marry Poppins attraction in the UK as long as it's not just a ride about Marry Poppins but one where she is guiding us around the UK while flying on her magical umbrella.
