What's the most thrilling ride in Walt Disney World?

I'd probably say rockin coaster. But because it's so pathetically short and overrated, I'd say Space mt. Well, rockin is more thrilling, but space mt. is better at prolonging the thrill and, at least to me, you get more bang for your buck.

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster followed by EE.

I think its a toss up between EE and RnR.. but love them all!

I just don't get the fascination with EE. Personally I think it has to be the most overrated attraction ever built. I mean don't get me wrong, it's fun and I do ride it every time I visit (provided the wait isn't too long... which it usually isn't). But the fact that it tends to rank so high on people's lists of best attractions, or most thrilling attractions, amazes me. As a roller coaster, it really isn't that thrilling. Kind of boring actually. If it had great theming to make up for that, then that would be different. But I just don't find it to be all that well themed either. Just not much to it.

Dania Beach Hurricane is AWESOME!! I've only ridden it twice and both rides were about 5 years apart. So the second time I rode it I thought maybe I was remembering it as more thrilling and fun than it actually was. Not so! In fact, it was even BETTER than I remembered. I've been on literally 100's of coasters and it's one of the best!!

I agree! It's a VERY underated woodie!

It has great airtime, and the airtime on the bunny hills on the last leg coming home is some of the strongest on the ride!

I only went down there from Orlando to ride it one time, a few years ago, but on that one visit, I bought a wristband when I got there about an hour before sunset, and rode it over and over again until it closed for the night! I'm a hard-core wooden coaster enthusiast and since there was pretty much never enough of a line to fill up the train and I was really getting into each ride, there was no point in stopping! With the non-existing lines I finished with around 50 laps in just a few hours! I was also figuring because the ride was out of the way of all the other Florida parks, and since I drove down there just for that ride, I may as well make the most of it! I'm overdue back for a second set of rides on it!

When I see people discuss the Dania Hurricane on national coaster boards, people almost always have good things to say about it.

I think it's underrated in the polls, and I think a lot of enthusiasts probably haven't ridden it, because:

a) it's far away from the large concentration of parks in the northeast

b) being located in SOUTH Florida, it's not something you're going to be passing nearby and stop at while on the way to another park, and

c) being the only major ride at a "Family Entrtainment Center" (ie "FEC", ie mini-golf and games), most people who ARE in central Florida for the major parks won't be going that far out of their way for just one ride!

Indy Speedway with my 2 year old driving:hurl:!
I perfer Space too, escpically because I always feel like my arms are going to get cut off...to be fair I have never done Mission Space. I get belly aches from the tea cups and don't want to spend my whole day at Epcot sick...want to try light version now that my oldest are tall enough.

Being on the Monorail and heading to MK. The first time you spot the castle while heading there is hands down the most thrilling thing at WDW

Space Mountain for me!

I love its aggression (that some consider "roughness") and also it gives the best airtime of any of the Disney coasters! Also, it has great pacing - not many coasters have a more exciting second half then first half, but Space Mountain does, with its biggest drop saved for towards the end of the ride.

OK, now you've got me nervous. I rode RNRC for the first time on our last trip, and I actually liked it because there were no big drops. I'm OK with speed and darkness. Space Mtn was closed for renovations so I didn't ride it. But we are going back in March, and DH has convinced me that I can handle it because there are no big drops (he said that I would NOT like EE because there are a few big drops, and I definitely will not ride ToT). But now you're talking about "aggression" and "airtime" and "biggest drop" at the end, and I'm worried it will be too much for me. Is it really more thrilling than RNRC? What does everyone else here think?

RnRC is faster and has loops, so those who prefer those type of things will find it more thrilling.

I have "old school" coaster taste and love airtime, which is why I find SM more thrilling. By "aggression" I just mean it's not as "smooth" as more modern steel coasters. I like my coasters on the "less smooth" side! (For the "smoothest" ride, ask for the front seat).

The drops aren't that big, maybe the biggest is not more than 15 or 20 feet. It's just that it's in the dark and you can't see them coming, the biggest one is the last one, and in the back seat, they give good air. If you don't like airtime, staple youself tightly with the lapbar and you won't experience it! (the opposite of how I like to ride! ;) )

I didn't mean to worry you or make you nervous about Space Mountain! If you did OK on RnRC, I think you'll be fine! ;)

SPOILER: Here's some POV of the ride with lights on, perhaps that will help you get a feel for if you think you can do it. (the cameras aren't mounted and can get a bit shaky in spots):

Space Mountain doesn't really have any big drops, it's just in total darkness and they are very sudden. It's the biggest thrill in my opinon, but if you can do RNRC then I would imagine you could do Space.

RnR, Tower of Terror, Space or Everest. It all depends on your point of view but that would be my top 4.

RnRC is the only rollercoaster in the park that flips you upside down. Nice launch in the beginning too

Tower of Terror builds you up and the suspense literally is as scary as the ride. Just imagine riding it the first time ever and NOT knowing when the drop will come. That's tense. Plus you realize very quickly why you have a seatbelt on when you hit the top again only to plummet a second later. And that music..........

Space Mountain is a rollercoaster in the dark and that's pretty much it. Nothing wrong with that at all.

Everest is a great ride. I like the theming personally. Picture riding it the first time at the FRONT! Maybe, just maybe for a nanosecond you figure you are going to drop right off the so called "unfinished" part of the track. And when you have a second, it is pretty high up there I thought. Also the spiral backwards in the dark made me feel like we were falling off the track.

It's Test Track, for me. Followed closely by Maelstrom...I always white-knuckle the drop.

I prefer fast over twirling around in circles followed by nausea or anything that takes me more than 5' off the ground.

gotta be RnRC. It's the launch and the dark and the upside down. I don't feel that much of an adrenaline rush during any other ride. It's absolutely my favorite thrill ride in Disney World.

Thanks for the explanation and the links. I can't open youtube at work, but I'm gonna check it out when I get home. I really want to experience Space Mountain after hearing about it for most of my life, so I think I'm just gonna suck it up and ride it.

The worst part is that I understand that the seats are in a row, not side by side, so I won't have the support of my 10 year old son sitting next to me, holding my hand, and telling me "It's OK Mommy" like he did when I tried BTMRR and RnRC and Splash Mtn for the first time on our last trip! LOL. He was so sweet and caring, it just melted my heart and made me brave.
