What's the dilly-o with Peter Pan's Flight & 7 Dwarfs MT?

I've never understood the philosophy behind splitting the line by group size (as they do on SDMT). Can someone explain how this is supposed to work? Is it odd/even number groups?

I'm no expert but here's how I understand the 7DMT to work. Test Track in EPCOT is similar as well

The reason that they do odd and even lines after everyone is merged at the standby and fast pass mix point it more for ride optimization. They want to make the trains as full as possible and as quickly as possible. This helps to make the lines move quicker.

Similarly at Test Track you have Fast Pass, Stand-By, then Single Rider queues. This also allows CM's to load cars optimally and quickly to increase ride throughput and reduce queue time.

Again, I'm no expert but this is how I understand those two rides to work. Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong on this.

It's kind of funny, I've been to Disney 5 times in the past 6 years and I've only been on the peter pan ride once. The time I went on it, I was going with all my in-laws and I had made a fastpass to go on it. Well I thought it was a cool ride, my sister in law got off and was like "people wait 2 hours to go on this?" haha I liked it and I knew it was a Disney original, so I appreciated it.

I felt the same way. I don't understand why they don't 'plus' this ride with upgraded everything. I cannot imagine adding the same effects from the queue into the ride itself, or adding the 'video animatronics' ala 7DMT to the ride would cost more than a few million. Such a plain ride, and its not saved by a theme song like IASW.

I actually stood in line for this one...mainly because my son was like..a year and a half old and we blew a LOT of time at Magic Kingdom because we felt we got the most out of that park. I hadn't seen the new upgrades to the queue and I thought they were pretty cool...especially the little moment where "Tinkerbell" flies into the little chest and it bounces up and down... pretty cool.

I never understood the wait for Peter Pan and 7DMT, after I rode it. I would not wait more than 15 minutes for either of them. Other than LEDs and paint, not much has changed on Peter Pan since I rode it in the 70s. 7DMT is a glorified Barnstormer coaster. Theming is nice, but the ride itself is so-so.
