What's the dilly-o with Peter Pan's Flight & 7 Dwarfs MT?

Are the wait times incredible for these two in particular because they're just super fantastic rides, are they the preferred rides for the junior set, or what? We're making our first trip to WDW, and I'm not sure if we should be getting FP+ for these. It'll just be me and DH this particular trip. Are these rides that two forty-somethings might enjoy?

Peter Pan is popular because it's a classic ride that the whole family can enjoy, while SDMT is still relatively new, and most people who don't go often have never been on it. I would fastpass them. The waits for both never really go down. Have a magical vacation!

Peter Pan's popular because you actually get to "fly" over Neverland on a ship. Seven Dwarves Mine Train, on the other hand, is a thrill ride and is fairly new. I would say Fastpass them both and do Splash Mountain as the third Fastpass. That ride is very fun, but make sure to wear a poncho if you don't like getting wet! :cat:

You could do one at rope drop and then FP the other if there's another attraction you want to get a FP for. Everyone wants to do PPF because it's an original to MK and something the whole family can do. Even though you're not going with kids, you'll still enjoy it as you fly over London and then over Neverland and through pirate ships.

7DMT is still fairly new, and though it's a shorter ride, the theming is great and the ride itself is pretty fun.

I've only ever done the mine train once and that was near closing when they were done accepting fastpasses. Naturally the line moved much faster so it wasn't that long. However, this was the first Disney ride or ride in general that I can remember where they asked us how many and we then had to wait in another long queue. I thought we were about to get on but I was wrong. It was a nice little ride though. I tried riding again this past trip but the line was already long a few minutes after the park opened and I wasn't about to stand in line for it. But hopefully next week I'll get to do it again during the day.

And Peter Pan is just a classic attraction that's why the line is as long as it is. That and also because the capacity is low, but it's still a nice little ride, despite the fact it needs a good refurbishment.

Peter Pan is a classic attraction that adults and grandparents remember riding as kids and is a ride for all ages and abilities. It may also get a boost in interest by younger children because of Jake and the Neverland Pirates. I have heard that is not the most efficient ride in terms of capacity and loading/unloading but I have no idea if that is true.

I attribute 7 Dwarves to the fact that is new and located in the most popular land in the park.

Those two rides are definitely worth getting a FP for. Peter Pan is just a classic ride that is a must-see for everyone in the park. The wait times are always AT LEAST an hour. That would be short compared to how I have seen it. Even on days where the park is typically considered "less crowded", the wait time is still long. The same goes for 7DMT. This ride is popular because it is a roller coaster (and there aren't many in MK), and it is the newest attraction. Even as an adult, I love both of them. :)

I have heard the same. There aren't that many boats and the boats don't hold many people. Even though the ride is constantly moving, the occupancy is low compared to the immense crowds.

Peter Pan has an incredibly low capacity factor due to each ship only having a single bench seat that hold 2 or 3 guests. DL's versions of most of the duplicate rides all have smaller capacity vehicles. But when they build at WDW the capacity for the same attraction is usually doubled to handle larger crowds. Not sure how MK's Peter Pan was overlooked on this detail but I wish they would do a complete overhaul on the ride and implement ships with 2 rows to speed up the load rate.

Ahh..However, There is a ride that does it much better and a few miles down the road...But, with bikes..

Last time I went to MK the line for Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh were an hour the entire day. It isn't shocking that people at Disney World want to ride , rides based on classic Disney characters.

I FP them both. Always. But I have to say, the past few times, 7DMT has slowed down later at night. I think last time it was 20 min, which isn't so bad.

Not sure if extra seating would actually do much.... If you installed a extra seat you would need to use longer cars which would likely impact the total number of cars on the ride... Might also make getting in and out slower which could also impact total capacity.

Hence why I said it needs a complete overhaul to ramp up the complete system. The current boats are rather big. Take out the sail (which blocks your view anyway) and figure in a second row and it would work. The vehicles would travel the same speed but load 4 to 6 passengers at a time rather than 2 or 3 guests at a time.

Last time we went we did Peter Pan at rope drop---because we wanted to walk through the new line queue---and I think you miss it if you have a fast pass. (We liked the queue, btw) We had a fast pass for the Mine Train. My husband, daughter, and I LOVED both attractions. You will too, if you are a kid at heart. :)
