Whats the deal?

Sorry about your time at WDW, but technical difficulties do happen. When I was in Disneyland in January my dad and I got stuck on it's a small world for over an hour. One of the guys in our boat said that was the third ride out of 4 he was on that morning that broke down. Then as we were walking around Thunder Mountain was broken down, and we couldn't use our fastpasses for Indiana Jones because it also wasn't working. It stinks when stuff like that happens, but it does. You just sort of have to deal with it I guess.

Two: Space Mountain was a mess!!! It probbaly stoped working liek 10 times the whol day! We spemn half the whole morning trying to get on and when we did there was more thecnicazl diffaculties. I hear this happens alot but does it?

If Space Mountain is really going down that often lately, maybe the powers that be will bump it up on the refurbishment totem pole a bit. This is a headlining attraction, it really needs to be in better shape and more reliable. I'll make final judgement on it after I ride it in at the end of June, but I'm kind of hoping that the rumored refurbishment is total track replacement.

I'm sorry to hear that your trip was somewhat disappointing. But remember, a bad day at WDW is better than a good day at school! ;)

One of my friends who works at Space Mountain said that the attraction was closed for about 6 hours before 3pm this afternoon. He also indicated that the new FastPass machine would be completed Saturday, but until then, there is no FastPass for the attraction.

Most of the downtimes on Space are not usually related to the attraction needing refurbishment, or the age of the ride.

Most of the downtimes, are usually caused by the guest themselves.

With most rides, especially a coaster, the whole things has to keep moving, if a car is stopped in one spot to long the cars being them start to pile up.

SO with Space, most of the downtimes, are caused by guest taking TO LONG TO GET OUTTA THE CAR.

if they are so slow exiting that more than a few cars are stacking up behind them, the entire ride comes to a stop.

That is what causes 75% to 80% of all downtimes.

That's what happens at Disneyland's Space mountian!

That's true. Hadn't really thought of that kind of downtime. When I think of downtime, I think of something that happens to the ride that causes it to go down for hours and forces the CMs to empty the queue. The guests taking too long to exit issue seems like it would take a few minutes to fix. Unless stopping the ride requires that everything has to be reset and retested, which would take significantly longer.

In any case, I hope that Space Mountain gets some much-needed attention soon.

Would they need to turn on the lights? Would it take 20 minutes?

So by new fp, does this mean new fp like the ones that were introduced to KS a while ago? If yea, then how are they going to be used differently?

I just got back and had a wonderful time. I did notice a few people not having a good time, but it was Memorial day weekend. You have to expect crowds.

I saw many more smiles than frowns on my vacation

Same new type. I have heard that these new fast passes should be at every FP attraction by mid-June. Though far from official, word is the only current intended us of the FP is to be able to better identify the date and time. The barcodes are for future possibilities.

Not that's it's really that important, as I really got a chuckle from this thread.

But......FYI.....

Tell me after!

For most newer rides, it does take less time to reset. But for an older ride liek Space Moutain it takes amuch longer time to reset.

Plus think, if the whole thing comes to a total stop.

You will then have to turn on the lights, and have cast memebrs go out, on both tracks, empty each car, and walk all of the guest out of the ride.

I seriously don't see that on mine. I can spell, but it's always nice to play with new forum toys. Where exactly is this nifty thing?
